An uneventful ride for an eventful day.
Marinette watched as the clouds moved slowly across the darkening sky.
When they finally arrived home, her mother helped her out of the car, her father meeting them both outside.
After answering a few of her father's questions about her current state, she maneuvered her way in through the door. The bakery smelled clean, and fresh. She guessed her mother was cleaning before she went to pick her up.
She felt a little guilty about getting her mother to come get her, but if she would've went home as ladybug, her mom would question how the heck she had gotten a cast.
And that would be an even worse situation.
She had a lot of trouble getting up the stairs, but refused to get help from either of her parents. She ended up moving her crutches beside her, and dragging herself up the stairs backwards. Using her arms to pull herself up and push her onto each step.
Luckily, her arms were fairly strong.
She crawled through her trapdoor, and finally let Tikki out of her bag.
"Please don't say what I think you're gonna say." Marinette sighed, slowly standing up, using her crutches to hold up her body.
"Oh Marinette...." Tikki tilted her head, observing her master, who was struggling to keep herself upright.
She felt bad that she couldn't help her, but she was just too small to support her.
"I'm okay Tikki." She smiled, moving over to her dresser, pulling out a pair of soft pink shorts.
She changed into her most comfortable pajamas, though in her current state she didn't feel very comfortable.
"Marinette we need to talk." Tikki spoke, flying up to meet Marinette, who was desperately trying to climb up her latter to her bed.
"I know Tikki." She sighed, finally flopping onto her soft mattress.
"What are you going to do?" Tikki asked, taking her place beside Marinettes pillow.
"I don't know. I've got to go to school anyways...but what if an akuma comes? What if hawkmoth finds out I'm injured and uses it against me?" She shook her head, holding her temple in her palm.
"I can see what we can do....Master fu was worried something like this could happen. But at least you can still move around."
Marinette laughed bitterly, sure she could move, but her speed wasn't exactly helpful. She felt like she would only slow Chat down.
Make it harder to win.
If she wasn't a burden before, she sure felt like one now.
Her head had been spinning for days, and it was like nothing she did could stop it. One second she was fine, the next she was staring at herself in the mirror, disgusted look on her face. She couldn't pinpoint what had started it.
And she didn't know how to make it end.
"As for hawkmoth finding out.....your suit should cover the cast..." Tikki looked around aimlessly, as if she was in deep thought.
"Should we try transforming?" Marinette suggested.
"Yeah maybe we should." Tikki nodded.
"Tikki, spots on."
A warm feeling spread over her body, starting on her face and moving down to her toes.
She looked down, hoping she was lucky enough for her cast to be concealed.
