"Stop following me," Yeri groaned, almost running off the mall. Jungkook scoffed and followed her silently. "Your dad pays me for following you. I won't stop just because you said to stop." Yeri turned around, startling Jungkook when she suddenly had her finger up, close to his nose. "Listen, cutie. I don't care what my father pays you or what he told you. I am old enough to take care of myself. I don't need a stupid babysitter to watch after me."
Yeri turned on her heel, too fast which lead her to twist her ankle. She fell on her butt, whining, and looked up at Jungkook who stood there carefree, his hands casually in his pockets. "Hey! Didn't you just say that you were paid to protect me?" Yeri held her aching ankle.
Jungkook shrugged, leaning down to look at her with a slight smirk. "Didn't you just tell me that you don't need a babysitter and that you can take care of yourself, babe?" Yeri frowned, her cheeks hinting a light shade of pink at the sudden pet name. She got up back on her feet, limping slightly as she continued walking, ignoring Jungkook.
A group of guys entered the mall when she wanted to walk out and her eyes immediately locked with his. Yeri quickly lowered her head, fiddling with the hem of her sleeve, and waited until Sehun and his friends passed by. Jungkook leaned against a wall and watched Yeri with a smile. She pretended to be fierce and strong but just by this scene, he could tell that she was exactly the opposite.
"Ah, young love. It's such a different feeling, right?" He said creeping up behind Yeri who got startled at the sudden voice. "W-What are you talking about." She mumbled, her blush getting a deeper red before she stormed off the mall.
Shaking his head with a chuckle, Jungkook followed her. He called a cab but Yeri crossed her arms in front of her chest, limping off in another direction. Jungkook raised a brow and watched her. "Hey, are you serious with your ankle right now? Come on, get in the damn cab so I can bring you to a doctor."
Yeri sent him a deathly glare and turned around walking her own way. Jungkook groaned when the taxi driver went off, telling them he didn't have the time to mess with kids. So Jungkook jogged after the limping girl. "Both of us will get in trouble when you seriously injured your ankle. Stop being stubborn and let's go check a doc."
But the girl was ignoring him, still. Jungkook didn't even notice the tears burning in her eyes. Only when she sniffed he quickly blocked her way and looked at her with a worried face. "H-Hey... Why are you... Okay, I am sorry, I should have caught you earlier. Come on, I will carry you on my back." Yeri lowered her head, letting her tears fall down freely now. "I-I just h-hate it," she said sobbing. Jungkook, lost about the situation and the crying girl, rubbed his nape nervously. "Uh, I bet it's nothing serious. Maybe you just twisted it and-"
"Not my ankle, you idiot!" Yeri whined louder, wiping her tears. "The thing you said earlier... about love..." she mumbled, shyly as she avoided his eyes. Jungkook was happy that it wasn't her ankle and breathed out relieved. "Oh. That. Okay, listen. I won't tell anyone. Don't worry. I won't tease you as well. I know guys can be assholes but stop crying, okay?"
Yeri looked up at Jungkook who truly seemed to be genuine about his concern. A small smile formed on her lips and she nodded. "Now turn around. You said you would carry me." Jungkook blinked confused and was surprised when he suddenly felt Yeri jump on his back, wrapping her arms around his neck, her legs around his waist.
The boy was obviously overstrained with the situation, nevertheless, he held her by her thighs so she wouldn't slip and fall down. She giggled next to his ear and it felt weird to feel a girl so close to him. "You know, Kookie, it's not even that bad to have you as a babysitter. Now that I think about it, it's actually a win-win situation. Since I always had old grannies as babysitters, I couldn't be too hard on them. But with you... I can make you my personal slave. You have to carry me around, bring me stuff I want and maybe even do my homework, hm?"
Jungkook scoffed as he began walking the way back down the street. "Yeah, sure," he mumbled grumpily. But whatever she had planned, he wouldn't quit this job. He had to endure it all to come closer to his dream. His dream and passion for photography.
