With a deep sigh, Mr. Kim sat down on the corner of his desk. "Are you sure? We are really delighted to have you with us even after Yeri's graduation. I noticed the change of Yeri's attitude and also how confident she got during the time you have been with her." The man looked at Jungkook who was playing with the rings on his long fingers. "I know, sir. And I am really thankful for everything you have done for me while I was working with you. But I guess it's time for me to leave."
Mr. Kim nodded, pacing around his desk to grab the envelope that Jungkook had placed on earlier. Resignation. He put it in the drawer of his desk, with a small smile. "It was a pleasure to work with you, Jungkook. But can I ask you what you are going to do once you leave us? If it's not too private of course." Jungkook smiled, shaking his head. "It has always been a dream of me to study photography. But the school fees were too high, so I took a few part-time jobs to be able to pay for them. Thankfully I met you and Yeri. I learned a lot this year, thanks to you and Yeri, I discovered what family, trust, and love are."
"Jungkook, you are always welcome, you know that right? At first, I was scared that you would drop this job because Yeri can really be a pain in the ass. But the way you endured and managed her mood swings, her attempts to make you quit, and all her problems at school... I am really impressed and also proud to see that there are still young boys out there, living their lives to achieve something. I am happy to see that you are still pursuing your dreams. I won't hold you back, don't worry." Both of the men stood up, Jungkook bowing down politely, but when Mr. Kim pulled the younger in a hug, his eyes widened. "Take care, son. And visit us from time to time."
After Jungkook left the company, he stood in front of the building, staring up with a sad smile. He said goodbye to Mr. Kim but would he be able to say goodbye to Yeri that easily, too? He swallowed the lump in his throat, his palms getting sweatier when he thought of not being able to see Yeri daily as he used to. Slowly, he made his way downtown.
Meanwhile, Yeri watched how Suhyun and Saeron were close to a mental breakdown when her two friends couldn't find a good dress for their graduation. With a smile, the latter secretly took some pictures of the dresses to compare them later on. "How is this?" A moment later, Suhyun stepped out with a long, black dress including a daringly low cut on its back and the fabric lightly shimmering in the light, covering her curves. "Woah!" Yeri watched her friend in awe, "That's it!" The two hugged, happy they found at least one dress. Two more to go.
Saeron stood there pouting, "You look so beautiful, oh my god, I need a dress." And with that, she began roaming in the boutique to look for more dresses. Yeri only chuckled when a dress suddenly caught her eye. She carefully took it off the rack, walking into a changing room to try it on. When she stepped out to check it in the big mirror, she pursed her lips, gently stroking the velvety fabric hugging her petite figure.
For a moment, she stood there, watching herself in the clothing. Would Jungkook like this outfit on her? Unwittingly, a smile formed on her lips when she thought about holding Jungkook's hand before he walked her to the dance floor. How Jungkook would place his arms around her waist as they smoothly moved to the rhythm. She closed her eyes, imagining Jungkook's breath stroking her ear, whispering nothing but sweet nothings to her which made her heart flutter.
"Yeri?" The girl snapped out of her daydream and turned around, her two friends watching her with their mouths somewhat open. "That dress is made for you!" Yeri blushed, nodding as she looked down on herself, feeling confident.
Later that night, after the friends parted, Yeri stepped inside her room and carefully hung the dress in her wardrobe, waiting for next week's graduation so she could finally wear it, and also finally confess how she felt towards Jungkook.
Speaking of Jungkook, her heart fluttered at the thought of the male, so Yeri walked downstairs, greeting her father first before she knocked at Jungkook's door, which used to be the guestroom before. He had become a part of the family and he had become an even more important part of Yeri's life. He was the one that made Yeri happy. With Jungkook next to her, Yeri could cherish and appreciate the little things in life, also with Jungkook she finally learned to love herself.
"Come in," Jungkook's soft voice called from inside and the girl stepped in, closing the door behind her. The smile on her face grew when she saw the boy already smiling at her. "Did you eat?" Yeri asked as she sat down on the bed, crossing her legs below her. The male nodded before he turned around in his chair, continuing to edit the image he took earlier. "I finally found a dress for my graduation next week!" Yeri announced brightly.
Jungkook avoided her gaze, gulping before he tried to sound as excited as Yeri. "Oh, that's cool! I bet your father will love to see you in it," he said, clicking on his mouse, his eyes not leaving the screen. Yeri stood up, walking towards the boy. She placed her hands on his shoulders as she watched what Jungkook was editing. "I hope you will like it, too. This time I picked something that shows the true me and not something I pretend to be like," she said, playing with Jungkook's hair.
For some reason, the elder was quiet, he was not the overpowering and noisy Jungkook that Yeri knew. "Is something wrong? Are you mad at me?" she managed to ask, feeling silly the second the words left her lips. Jungkook closed his eyes, hating himself for making the girl blame herself for his cowardice. He slowly turned around to face the younger and shook his head, "Actually, Yeri, uh I don't know how to say that..." He brushed his nape, curiosity rising in Yeri.
"I think, I think I won't be able to make it to your graduation party," Jungkook said carefully, watching Yeri's reaction. "Oh," she only said before she took a step back and lowered her head. "Yeah, uh the photography school I want to visit has the registration date set on that day. I'm really sorry, but hey, you can still send me pictures of how you look when you are at the party, right?" He reached out to hold her hand but she swiftly moved back, looking at him with a broken smile. "Sure, I will do that. Oh, look it's so late already, goodnight, sleep tight."
But before Jungkook could say anything, Yeri had already left his room, storming upstairs to her own. She slammed the door shut at the same time as her tears started to roll down her cheeks. Sobbing, she crawled under her bedsheets, trying to muffle her cries in her pillow.
