As the days passed, and Yeri's graduation came closer, Mr. Kim noticed how Yeri was not her quirky, loud self anymore. Ever since the day that Jungkook announced he was quitting his job, she crawled back into her shelter and blocked everyone from the outside. She didn't even let Suhyun and Saeron close to her, quote, she needs some time alone. But her friends and her father were scared. The more Yeri was alone the more she build up her walls again, the walls that Jungkook succeeded to break. Yet, they couldn't do anything about it.
When their graduation was around, Saeron rushed into Yeri's room, on one hand, was her make-up bag, in the other Yeri's dress. "Are you going to get up yourself or do I have to drag you out myself?" The girl stood there watching her friend, cuddled into her bedsheets, not giving a single fuck as she rolled over in her bed, wrapping the sheets only tighter around her body. Saeron sighed and set the stuff in her hands on the desk near her before she walked over to Yeri's bed and began pulling on the sheets.
"Let me go!" Yeri screeched, clasping the sheets, but Saeron was stronger, she pulled the sheets off, leaving Yeri on her bed only in her pajamas. She pulled her legs up and hugged her body, nuzzling her head in her pillow. "I don't want to go to that stupid graduation party. Just leave me alone, I want to sleep."
"Yeri, how long are you going to whine after Jungkook? He fucking left to study not to the army. He is pursuing his dreams, just let him be. For fuck's sake, you should do the same! Why are you even sulking? He can't be your babysitter forever! That boy has other things to do, too!"
Yeri sat up, tears already rolling down her cheeks."Saeron," she began, sniffing, "It's not that he isn't my babysitter anymore. It's that I grew too attached to him, I trusted him... and maybe even because of other things," the girl dropped her head, playing with her fingers on her lap. "He taught me to be myself no matter what, he accepted me for who I am and made me love myself after all the shit I have been through..."
"So, what now?" Saeron asked, sitting on Yeri's bed as she reached out to hold her friend's hand, softly caressing her thumb over her skin. "Are you going to give everything up and just forget everything that you learned while you were with Jungkook? Do you think he would be happy when he hears that you ditched your own graduation just because he isn't with you anymore? Yeri, I know you love Jungkook. Not on a friendship basis, I could tell the second you looked at him." Yeri's eyes widened at what her friend said. "But life goes on. Just because he isn't here with you right now does not mean he won't be here with you in the future. We can talk to him later, ok? Now get up so we can get you ready for the party, hm?"
Yeri sniffed, shaking her head lightly, "Saeron," her voice cracked as she looked at her friends with teary eyes and Saeron could feel her heartbreak at the sight of her friend. She swallowed and listened to her. "I thought he liked me too. I never told you... but I wasn't so sure about my feelings back then. But when he came to help me to get rid of Sehun at that party, he... He kissed me that night... I pretended not to remember but maybe it hurt him? Maybe he thinks I hate him and that's why he wants to leave and never see me again? I am too late, right? I took too long to confess and now I won't ever be able to confess my real feelings to him."
"Oh gosh, Yeri shut up seriously." Saeron suddenly said, her eyes also burning from tears. "If there is one thing I know, it's that Jungkook liked you more than just the girl he had to babysit. He was head over heels for you, but your stupid ass was too focused on other things back then. Now stop pitying yourself and get up! You can still talk to him after the party. Both of you are adults and can talk through this. Your father was so excited for today, so please, let's just go!" She grabbed the crying girl's arm and dragged her out of the bed. "And stop crying. Your eyes are all puffy I don't know how to put on makeup on those." She groaned and started combing Yeri's long, wavy hair.
