When Yeri woke up the next morning, she wasn't surprised to see Jungkook snoring next to her. They were still dressed from the party and when an intense pain kicked Yeri's head, she knew she would never drink again. It was the first time she had a hangover, and she knew she wouldn't like to get another one quite so soon. Yeri stood up, holding onto her head as she strolled to the bathroom. Pictures with Sehun from last night flickered in front of her eyes which only caused her migraine to worsen.
She splashed cold water on her profile and looked at her reflection in the mirror. "Ah, what is this," she grumbled at her I'm-done-with-this-shit look and stepped back to her bedroom, finding Jungkook slowly rising up.
The boy stretched, his shirt rising up somewhat that revealed the sharp v-line as he moaned, still worn out from all the shit he had to deal with last night. Yeri promptly glanced away, her eyes growing and cheeks crimsoning a light rose at the view before she clutched her phone and checked her messages.
group chat: RV hoes
_suhyun: ok so did you girls hear
ron_sae: ???
_suhyun: someone beat the shit out of Sehun last night at his own party
ron_sae: well, I bet he deserved it.
_suhyun: there is a short video on twitter some guy recorded but it looks like he took the vid with his Nokia 3310 what's that quality tho smh
_suhyun: [video file attached]
ron_sae: OH SHIT I WISH I WAS THERE
Yeri only sighed and put her phone on mute. Her head was pounding from all the messages that still came in but she clicked on the video instead, wanting to see how Sehun was beaten up. Indeed, the quality was shit, but Yeri's eyes widened when she saw the figure who punched Sehun leaving to his car before the video was cut. "But..." She turned around to look at Jungkook who was rubbing his eye with the back of his hand. "Jungkook..."
The boy looked at her and hummed as Yeri slowly approached him. She placed her phone next to him and he carefully took it, watching the video with no emotions. "Yeah, that's me. Don't worry, he is fine I didn't damage his handsome face too much." Yeri only shook her head, climbing on the bed to get closer to him. She grabbed his arm and checked his skin for any bruises. "I don't care about Sehun. He can rot in hell after what he said to me... Are you okay?"
Jungkook turned to look at her with wide eyes. "Do you not remember?" he breathed out, thinking about the kiss they shared after the incident. Yeri's brows furrowed and she slowly shook her head. "I have the worst headache ever and the last thing I remember is that I slapped Sehun and ran away." There was this stupid sting in Jungkook's chest again, the lump in his throat making it hard for him to speak. "Oh."
They looked at each other for a while before Jungkook decided to break the silence. "Nothing happened actually. I found you running home and picked you up before I brought you here. You fell asleep immediately." He lied. Yeri's lips formed an 'o' and she nodded slowly. "Thank you," she whispered, her head lowered.
"For what," Jungkook looked at the wall, disappointed, not only in Yeri because she couldn't remember his confession, but also in himself because he couldn't man up and tell her again. He was a coward, scared that she would reject him now that she was sober and not overwhelmed by the emotions from last night.
"For always being by my side. You are the best thing that happened to me. Never leave me, okay?" She said, her voice obviously shaking as she was close to crying. She hesitated first but then wrapped her arms around Jungkook's neck. Jungkook closed his eyes, his arms slowly found their place around her tiny waist. His heart ached and all he wanted was to tell her how he feels but he knew that Yeri didn't feel that way.
After a while, they parted and looked at each other. Jungkook cupped her cheek, wiping the tears with his thumb before he shook his head. "Don't cry. He isn't worth it. Be glad that you realized what a jerk he is before anything else could happen. It's a new experience added to your list."
Yeri only nodded, a weak smile forming on her lips at his wise words. "Jungkook?" The boy hummed, lost in her eyes. "We both reek of alcohol, maybe we should shower and get changed before my father sees this." Yeri chuckled, scrunching her nose. The elder joined her laughter and nodded. "Okay."
