Yeri impatiently fiddled with her fingers, counting the seconds in class so she finally could go home and watch k-dramas for the whole holidays. Saeron nudged Yeri, telling her to stop with the pen, or else their teacher wouldn't let them go any sooner.
Sighing, Yeri looked around in class. All of her classmates were waiting for the bell to ring and as if planned, once the bell rang, the whole class stood up immediately engulfing the room into a loud and chaotic mess. Everyone was happy about the holidays, which means staying out longer, partying and no homework to worry about for two weeks full.
"Are you leaving for Jeju again?" Suhyun approached them when they were out of the class. Yeri shook her head, hooking her bag over her shoulder. "Saeron and I are planning to go, just join us what's the big deal if your father isn't with you? You should start going out on yourself, Yerim. You are a young adult and it's normal to go on holidays without a parent."
Deciding to stay quiet, Yeri made her way down. She just wanted to go home and lay in her bed all day for the holidays. Her father couldn't make it due to meetings and the new game they were planning to launch soon. Even though he said that Yeri could go with her friends, she didn't want to. It was a father-daughter thing after all.
Lost in thoughts, Yeri strolled down the almost empty hallways of the school, everyone already gone. She stopped when she noticed a pair of shoes in front of her, her head shot up immediately to check who crossed her way. Yeri's eyes widened when she saw Sehun standing in front of her. "Hi," Sehun smiled slightly, giving Yeri almost a heart attack. How was she supposed to act now? What should she say? She always dreamt of those scenarios and prepared for it just in case. But now that she actually met him, she didn't know what to say. "Hi-llo. I mean Hi."
Yeri internally facepalmed herself for her stupid mistake, but when Sehun chuckled, with that deep, smooth voice of his, she was surprised and smiled also. "I have a party on Sunday and it would be cool if you come as well. It's just a small one to celebrate the holidays you know. Just bring some friends too if you like." Yeri's eyes widened, her crush just invited her to his party.
Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to stay in Seoul after all. If it meant she got to see Sehun at his party, Jeju could wait. She nodded, scared to talk that her voice could crack. "Hope to see you around then."
Once he left, Yeri took a deep breath and leaned against the lockers, her hand slowly patting her chest. "Calm down, it's just a party. Just Sehun's party..." A big smile formed on her lips and she skipped down the hall, leaving the school, praying it could be Sunday already so she could go to Sehun's party.
When Yeri arrived home, it was suspiciously quiet. She checked each room but it seemed like she was alone. She knew that Jungkook had a doctor's appointment, and her father would be at work until late, but she didn't know that all the maids would be gone, too. Happy that she was all by herself she quickly made her way up to her room. After changing into more comfortable clothes, Yeri grabbed her laptop and called Suhyun and Saeron via Skype.
The girls picked up quickly, "What's up, Yeri-oh," Suhyun squealed into the camera, Saeron hitting her with an annoyed face. Yeri only giggled and waved, "Girls, you don't know what happened! Sehun invited me to his party! He came up to me and asked me to come! Isn't that awesome!? He knows that I actually exist! And he didn't do it because he was forced by his father! He asked me because he wanted me to be there!"
Saeron and Suhyun fell silent, looking at each other with a worried face. "Yerim... Are you sure you want to go there? I mean we won't be there to be by your side... There will only be those kids we never talk to, you will only feel uncomfortable..." Saeron finally decided to speak. Yeri rolled her eyes, "Why wouldn't I go? This is a one-time chance to get close to him. He said I can bring friends too. So I will just take Jungkook with me, there is no big deal. I will just look at how parties like that are and then just leave if it should bother me." Yeri shrugged, chewing on her thumb's nail.
"Yeri, don't get us wrong, but if Sehun throws a party there will be alcohol and maybe even drugs involved. Just be careful and don't leave your drinks somewhere you can't see. Also, don't accept to do any stupid challenges. I am sure that Arin and Jooe will be there too, and you know how they always look for a chance to pick on you," Suhyun said, shaking her head lightly at her innocent friend.
"Bullshit!" Yeri suddenly said louder than intended, "You act like you are my mother! Can you at least just have a little bit of trust in me? I am old enough to know what's the right thing and what's not! As if I am going to be that careless. If you two were my real friends, you would support me and my chance to get closer to Sehun instead of criticizing my decisions!" Yeri slammed her laptop shut and threw it next to her, pulling her legs to her chest as she wrapped her arms around them. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and mumbled to herself, "Nobody understands how I feel."
There was a soft knock at her door before Jungkook's head peeked inside with a small smile. "Hi, can I come in?" Yeri immediately smiled and stood up, approaching the boy at the door. She grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, jumping excitedly on her spot. "I missed you! How was the doctor's appointment? Are you feeling good?"
Jungkook, confused about the sudden attack of Yeri and her weird mood, only nodded and scratched his head. "Yeah, everything's good, but what's with you? You seem so... hype? How was school without me?" The girl chuckled and sat down on her bed, dragging Jungkook along. They sat on her bed, knees touching when Yeri began to tell Jungkook the story with Sehun earlier in the school's hallway.
"So, are you coming with me? It's going to be dope! You can't let me hang!" Yeri looked at her babysitter with sparkling eyes. Jungkook sighed and nodded finally. "I can't let you go alone anyway. It's my job to follow you everywhere." Yeri screamed with laughter, "I knew it! I knew that I can count on you! That's why you are my bestestestest friend!" She hugged him tightly "We have to go shopping too! I need an outfit and look extra pretty for Sehun!"
Jungkook closed his eyes, his hands slowly patting her back as the pain in his chest hit him again. But now he knew that he wasn't sick physically. No, Jungkook knew he was sick of feeling in love.
In love with Kim Yeri.
