Biography: Makoto is one of the few characters with Danganronpa that didn't bear a talent- at least not till the end of the first game. Due to this he seemed to have a normal complex of some sorts- constantly referring to himself as 'boring' and 'normal'. He had a pretty regular home life, having two parents who were still together and a younger sister. He used to attend middle school with an ultimate known as Sayaka Maizono and wanted to get to know her better but was intimidated by her being an ultimate, and so never interacted with her till high school. He is a very kind and supportive person, somehow managing to be able to approach all sorts of people without too many negative things happening. He is surprisingly determined and persuasive, being able to convince people of what he is saying- this ability he's used multiple times in the game to save his fellow students, whether it be from falling into despair or finding the blackened in a trial. He is a tad bit reckless at times.
Aspect: I personally believe he is either a hope or blood player. Now to decide what aspect he is we need to hear what traits the hope and blood players have.
"Those bound to the aspect of Hope are driven first and foremost by their convictions. They do right for right's sake, and are quick to come to the aid of anyone they deem to be experiencing injustice. That said, their views of the world can be quite black and white, so what they see as the "right" thing may not always be the universally accepted view. They put great value in the power of the imagination, the ability to dream up a better and more beautiful future. If anyone could dream a better world into existence, it would be one of the Hope-bound. They may sound like all sunshine and rainbows, but they aren't adverse to a little destruction, especially if they think they can replace it with something better and more just. At their best, Hope-bound are positive, caring, and warm. At their worst they can be narrow-minded and selfish."
"Those bound to the aspect of Blood draw their strength from bonds, from the trust and camaraderie that blooms among a group of people who all share a single vision. Blood-bound are absolutely leaders, but they inhabit more of an inspirational role than a commanding one. They are prophets, rather than generals, giving others the strength and motivation to keep fighting. The Blood-bound can dispense excellent advice even when their own lives and interpersonal relationships are disasters. They can be very "do as I say, not as I do" types. A Blood-bound can often be found on a sinking ship, forcing an endeavor forward with sheer stubborn force of will. No matter how bad things go, a Blood-bound can always count on friends and allies. At their best, they are charismatic, uplifting, and magnetic. At their worst they can be sullen, unkind, and set-in-their-ways."
Now from reading this I think it's safe to say a blood player. Because in the game he did try and get everyone to focus on a shared vision; escape and unmasking the mastermind. But due to so many people only focusing on the escape aspect several murders took place no matter how hard he and the others tried to prevent these. In the end he managed to get everyone to work together to unmask the mastermind by focusing on that goal, and in the other games he tried to help everyone focus on the goal of hope. And he is very leader-like. But he never takes on the commanding role, he's always been the background leader type, where he sits in the back and uses his words to remind people of what they're fighting for and why they're fighting it, and throughout the series it was his determination and motivation that helped keep others alive and in the first trial accidentally helped inspire Sayaka to attempt to commit murder. And in his free time events he is known to hand out very good advice, and lend a helpful ear and hand, and normally it was in topics that he had never experienced before. And multiple times in the series he has had to rely on his friends for help- most commonly Kyoko. Although I can see why others may argue and say he's a hope player or believe so. I personally interpret him as a Blood Player.
Class: For analysis on Classes- since there is no canon info on the personalities of each class. I use HomestuckExamination's analysis on each class. I personally believe Makoto is an Heir. In HomestuckExamination's analysis of the heir, they mention that Heir's have a knack for causing the other people around them to adapt and change, which is something he did in the series. After spending more time with Makoto we see that Kyoko in the d3 anime is more open (in my opinion at least) to others and seems to be somewhat more relaxed. I'm not quite sure how to explain her changes from the first game to the final killing game since- I haven't actually seen the anime- but I do know that she did go through some changes. Some may argue this was because she liked Makoto or she matured but I think it was a mixture of things including the fact that she got to hang out with Makoto more. "And as change permeates their lives, these tend to build up and escalate towards a defining moment or series of defining moments that truly alter them, and that will shape who they are and how they interact with others."
This is exactly how it's been for Makoto. First the whole entire thief issue happened which caused him to get accepted into hopes peak, then he befriended the ultimate despair without knowing, then they got locked inside hopes peak, then he had his memories erased and was forced to participate in the killing game, and so on. These events all slowly shaped his personality and beliefs. Each event slowly escalating in how it affected him. "Their Heir's Aspect factors heavily in their environment, being a main source of influence in their lives, and culminating in this defining change they may inherit."
I already talked a bit about this in the aspect section (I think) but his aspect was heavily brought out and influenced in the killing game and in the anime. I'd touch more on this subject but I don't have much to say on this particular subject.

Short answer: In my analysis I have concluded that Makoto Naegi is an Heir of Blood, one who is surrounded by blood and protected by blood.
