Vocation #4: Martial Artist

Martial artists are yet another vocational group that classify as heavy hitters. Their brute strength gives them the ability to deal out rather heavy attacks with minimal effort.

While they don't use heavier weapons outside of omnivocational abilities, martial artists will use weapons such as fans, claws, and staves. Their last preferred weapon is actually their bare hands; their fisticuff skills are unnaturally high. Thanks to their natural strength, many martial artists master the art of fisticuffs very early on. It allows them to be ready to brawl even if no weapons are available.

Martial artists — much like warriors — have a rather high resilience to damage. Their extraordinary strength and agility more than make up for their lack of spellcasting abilities. While they know a meditative skill to heal themselves slightly, they have no real magical skills.

Much like magi, martial artists also don't wear any armour. They instead opt for more comfortable clothes to go gallivanting around in. They also don't use shields unless they're able to from a previous vocation and are an omnivocational shieldmaster.

The martial artist's Coup-de-Grace is "Roaring Tirade," which freezes enemies in terror with an unnaturally loud shriek. It also increases their strength for a short duration of the battle they're in.

As a reward for attaining the highest position in their vocation, martial artists are awarded the Mercury Prize. This medal increases the wearer's agility by a significant amount. After attaining this medal, they become even more of a threat on the battlefield.
