For about three hours I got to talk a lot with Maya. I told her what really happened and why I had to lie about it. Thankfully she understood and she didn't judge. She spoke to me about how her relationship with Dean that was going on about four months and he wanted the family and I to meet her. That's why they only flew in for only four days since they need to get back on track with their classes. She did mention they would be coming back for Christmas break. Shocker.
But besides all that she was an attentive listener, she looked me in the eye and nodded her head at everything I said. Her response to the whole drama that happened that night at Holland was pretty shocking. I thought she would be pissed off and have a different look of who I am, but she didn't. She knew what I was going through.
She even told me that something similar happened with her parents, that she was lucky to keep a secret for a month. That scared me but Maya assured to me that on how oblivious my family is, they wouldn't find out for years. Except for Christian, and that it would be best to not tell anyone else or the quicker Cassandra, Jason and especially Dean could find out about it. Then when the time is right, I should come clean. I honestly thought Maya would have been the type of girl who would want me to come clean. Not keep it a secret, and that lying doesn't do good.
When it was around ten, Dean came in and claimed she missed his girlfriend already so he took her back to the guest house after she had said goodnight to me. I fell asleep right after.
In the morning it was the same, my run, dance, eat breakfast, stay in. This time I made sure to take a different direction when I was running. I wouldn't want to run into, him, again. I couldn't get him out of my head after that small encounter. It wasn't really even, more like a eye contact-surprise shocking-run away kind of thing.
I did call Jesse after breakfast though. Telling her that I didn't want to be alone for the day so I asked her to come over. Only about fifteen minutes later there was a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I shout and Jesse comes in smiling into the room. She hops onto my bed and leans her cheeks in her hands.
"What?" I chuckle and she continues with her smiling.
"You never finished telling me what happened that night at Holland, why you never want to go back there again" She points out and I roll my eyes at her.
"Please let's not talk about this" I plea for what feels like the billionth time this weekend.
"Oh come on Century, tell me everything that happened" No matter how much I really don't want to talk about Daniel's Friends 'hang out' I still know that deep down I really want to tell her.
The morning came and went. Talking with Jesse was the same like talking with Maya. The two of them are such great listeners. The only difference between them is that I've known Jesse my whole life, and with Maya it's like I have too.
I'm glad Dean chose a good one.
"Damn this Niall kid seems hot" Jesse laughs.
"Oh please Jesse, he's not your type" I wave my hand at her but she proceeds on laughing.
"Not my type? It sounds like you want him all for yourself" I roll my eyes and this time it's my turn to laugh as Jesse grabs my phone from my desk and rolls back onto my bed.
"I do not! He was just one of Daniel's friends who is cold, callous, inadequate, unpleasant, ungenerous-"
"I barely understood half the words you just said, all I heard was you want Niall" She smiles and I roll my eyes in annoyance once again. This has not been the greatest weekend ever.
"Okay, okay I promise I'll stop. Not because your telling me to, but because your giving me that face that tells me your about to kill me any moment" Relief washes over me just hearing the words come out of her mouth. I'd like for once a decent minute without being told at or embarrassed.
"Thank you!" She rolls her eyes and scrolls through my phone.
"Are you still seeing Evan?" Her eyes widen and they flash with concern.
"What? No" I snatch my phone out of her hands. There's a recently received message. It's from Evan. "I thought he was out of my life already!"
"That little bastard, he doesn't stop does he? He's what? Already in college, graduated even and he's still fucking up with a high schooler?" I decide not to read the message instead, I delete it. Not once having my moment of peace frustrates me that I throw my phone on my stack of pillows.
"Wait? I thought you..." Jesse trails off and presses her lips in a thin line avoiding my gaze.
"I what?" I push and Jesse waves me off. "No, now you have to tell me. What is it that you were going to say?"
"It's just I thought you had changed your number so that he wouldn't have access with you, but now I realize that you didn't" Jesse glances at me and stares at her hands. "You know what he did was-"
"Don't bring it up, remember the things I don't like to be brought up?" She nods. "Good, they have been brought so many times this weekend, and if I hear one, one more time I think I might blow"
"I'm sorry" Jesse says and we fall silent. It wasn't long before Jesse breaks the silence. "Hey so how was Daniel's body, you know since everyone was shirtless. Did he have abs?" I laugh at the sudden change of subject.
"Yes, he was very fine" I laugh harder and Jesse throws a pillow at me.
"Damn, he really is fine you know. Like not even fucking kidding" She lays on my bed and stares up at the ceiling. I knew that since the moment that Jesse looked at him, she had her eyes all over him. She likes him, even if she denies it.
