Middle school has come and Shiro still hasn't found a friend, only people who bully her. Yes, bullying is a strong word, but their action are hurtful, repeated and aren't needed (hey that rhymed). Except, the first day of middle school at Somei private academy, will change her life for the better.
-Shiro's POV-
I wore a beanie, this was to hide my mid length hair from the world. I hated how it was dyed in that bright, awful red colour. It just seemed so....
Fake.
I hated my eyes. The stupid colours were different. Blue for my mom, the same f--ing red for my dad. I hated it. So much.
Why couldn't I just be normal?
I stepped off of the train and sighed. A new school, a fresh start of bullying and teasing. As I stepped onto the Somei property, I heard some girls laughing at my boy-like appearance.
Apparently I fit in nowhere.
"Look how short he is," I could hear a girl whisper to her friend, "I wonder what his quirk is!"
"Probably the ability to be taller," a tall girl from the same group snickered and all the other girls giggled along, "It's drawback is probably that every time they use it they get shorter!" That theory was the most stupid thing I had ever heard. It didn't even make sense! Would their be a limit? Or would you just keep getting smaller? If so, why would you ever want to change back into your tiny form?
A boy in some ugly glasses walked up to me after I had silently taken my seat and started tugging on my beanie, urging me to take it off.
I just gripped it harder.
"TAKE IT OFF!" The boy yelled, laughing as I gripped it until my knuckles turned white.
"Yeah!" Other boys tried to help him, while chanting "Take it off! Take it off!"
When they finally managed to pull the hat off, my hair slid down to my shoulders where they rested in a tussled manner. "His hair is ugly!" Some random guys teased.
"He looks more like a girl now!" Girls teased me as well...
"So much for not being bullied here," I mumbled to myself.
I covered my eyes, both to stop the tears and the knowledge that if they saw my eyes, they would also tease me for that.
"Don't wanna show your eyes, loser? Well too bad! Take your hands away!" They gripped my arms, trying to shove them away from my face. They succeeded, until I shut my eyes tightly... I felt them trying to force open my eyelids... Until the door came sliding open. It slammed against the wall.
"STOP," I heard a boy yell," CAN'T YOU SEE SHE'S UNCOMFORTABLE SHOWING HER EYES!" He figured out I'm a girl, and he stood up for me!
"Tch, whatever! Plus, shorty isn't a girl! Can't you see he's wearing the male uniform!"
"Just leave them alone, it's obvious they do not want you to do whatever you are doing to them," The boy proclaimed, making all of the other boys leave my side and walk away. I covered my eyes and put on my beanie, not believing they were truly gone. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked me with concern... Real concern. To which I nodded my head to. It was a white lie. I couldn't seem weak.
"Thank you," I muttered quietly, "no one's ever stood up for me before... So thank you."
"You're welcome. My name is Tenya Iida! I hope we can be friends!" He stated with enthusiasm.
"A friend?" I asked uncertainly. I had never had a friend before, "You'd be my first..."
"Well, I'll be the best friend you've ever had!" He smiled lightly at me while I nodded my head. I loved his aura. It was aggressive, yet passive. Dominant.. Yet submissive. It made me feel safe. Yet on my toes.
"My name is Shiro, Shiro Riri."
"So, are you a girl?" He whispered to me, curiosity lacing his tone and I nodded my head slowly.
---Third person POV---
This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, Shiro forget completely about the note she had written until it fell out of the pockets of her bag a few months later and Tenya pointed it out to her.
"Oh, here." She stated simply giving it to Tenya as he read the note, realizing now, how much she had truly been through in her life, even as a five year old when she had written the note.
"Your life was this terrible?" Tenya asked with sadness lacing his voice as I hesitantly nodded,"I'm sorry." He stated simply a he crouched down and hugged the petite girl. Their friendship wasn't awkward or weird, they didn't have any feelings for each other. They were best friends, and leave it at that, nothing more than friends.
