Chapter 12

Fast forward another two months. The world barrier now 1130 by 1130. Based had been established and Aurey and Vechs had moved their house and connected the new house to the tunnels. Aurey now wore the shorts and tank top full time. Her bump was defined now and she displayed it with pride. Vechs had finally come to terms with the fact Aurey was having his baby and almost never left Aurey's side. Almost. He of course had to because they were preparing a feast to celebrate the new world. Aurey had insisted on cooking. Though there had been some disapproval about making a pregnant woman do all that work, Etho had easily settled it.

"Let the woman do the damn cooking. She obviously wants to and she cooks the best food any of us has ever had. Case closed."

So Aurey had been given tons of food and had been cooking and baking for a week. She kept the food in enchanted chests that kept it warm. She had even, with the help of the others, recreated the dinner table from the old MindCrack mansion. On the day of the feast, the MindCrackers gathered around the table laden with food. Before they began devouring the succulent meal prepared for them, Guude had a few words to say.

"Before we start, I would like to thank Aurey for making this meal for is despite her, uh, condition. And also thank all of you for putting so much effort into making this new world more like home. Now let's dig in!"

There was a scraping of bone cutlery and baked clay dishes and plates. There was enough food to feed one hundred people but between all the guys and the fact Aurey was eating for two, it would easily disappear.

Everyone was leaning back in their chairs, full but ready for dessert. Aurey went around and collected the plates and dishes and made trips to the kitchen to put them away. She washed the dishes and the cutlery and brought those back out. Then Aurey went to grab the dessert. It took seven minutes to lay it all on the table and Aurey had even made a cake.

While everyone else stuffed their faces, Aurey nibbled on a cookie. She was trying not to upset her stomach. When she finished the cookie, Aurey had a slice if pie. She ate this slowly also and punctuated eat bite with a sip of milk because milk settled nausea pretty well. When dessert was finished, Aurey went to clean up but everyone disagreed.

"You've already done so much Aurey, your don't have to clean up again." Guude told her.

Aurey nodded, oddly submissive. She let the boys clean up while sitting off to the side. She looked exhausted.

When the cleaning was done,Vechs came and scooped Aurey up. She had fallen asleep. While he walked out to their house, the others called at him to give Aurey their thanks. Vechs watched his sleeping angel. She looked so peaceful. He brought her down into the underground part if their home and carried her to their bedroom. Vechs laid Aurey on their bed and tucked her in. He stripped down to his boxers and put his clothes on their shelf. Despite now sharing a bed with Aurey, he Vechs still slept in his underwear. He cuddled up to Aurey and fell asleep.
