Most people found comfort by sleeping while others felt terrified to even close their eyes.✴✴✴
After walking through the bustling city night with all its color and life, Sohyun slowly drifted away from that liveliness. There was a feeling of ease as she was met with the dark loneliness as she made it to her house, the cool wind rustling the trees and though her colorful strains of hair joggled the thoughts in her mind as she entered her home.
Sohyun locked the door before putting her jacket on the hook next to the door and kicking her shoes off. She heaved a heavy sigh, lazily walking to her bedroom with her shirt already halfway off. Throwing her shirt and pants she stripped off in the dirty hamper, she rummaged through her closet for a pair of sweatpants and a night hoodie. With fresh clothes on, she pulled her hair into a ponytail before tossing her body onto the bed.
She turned over to her side, basking in the dark as she looked around the dark atmosphere and the outline of the inanimate objects decorated in her room. Jungkook suddenly floated into her hand, causing her to smile as she thought back to their interactions with each other and the weird emotions that flared up when she was around him. She wondered if he had the same weird feeling in his chest or as if something was tickling his insides. The blood and body heat rising whenever they were too close; to discover more and the temptation to break all boundaries she was too scared to explore.
Sohyun bit down on her lip as Yoongi invaded her mind, his strong scent of vanilla entered her nose again as if he was there. He had her curiosity pulling her by a leash. She wanted to know more about him but he was . . . complicated, especially with his feelings. He was still full of mystery. That was something they both had in common.
In order to take in other people’s issues she had to get over her own and let others view it, Sohyun came to the conclusion. It wasn’t right for her to be curious and want others to share when she herself wasn’t willing to let the ones that felt the same way into her life and her messy crowded mind.
Deep down Sohyun was a good person, everyone just viewed her as evil, which built itself as her exterior personality. The feeling that Yoongi was hurt in some way, like her, that he had good intentions but forced this fake rude, cold facade over took Sohyun’s mind. She felt a cold rush through her skin and bones. If she wanted to, she could tear Yoongi apart just by observing him. Because honestly, they were more similar than they could even imagine.
She liked his soft side, it made her feel warm. He was beautiful inside and out in that light. But she also liked the conflicted side of him. That was his raw side showing and no matter how he tried to brush it off, Sohyun could see right through it. It was like she got a connection with him, without either one of them realizing it. And maybe he felt that way too.
One mistake five years ago was all it took to ruin her. Though she didn’t have a towering wall around her heart like Yoongi that was slowly crumbling, she did provide it with a sturdy shield. Her trust for people faltered as did her bright smile. The outside she loved so dear scared her along with human contact. It got so bad that she spent days locked away in her room with just four walls staring back at her. Her heart would easily let go of its shield, she could do nothing about it. And she was somewhat okay with that, finally realizing that she needed to be set free from the gloomy state she had put herself in because of him. She had to be smart, not just guard her heart, because no matter what, there’s always going to be a time where a heart gets broken and taken advantage of, or the heartbroken just might be the cause of that to another. The thing was knowing the steps in repairing it and making it strong so next time only a bandage was needed.
