Yoongi was walking back down the hall to the training room after finishing his shower. His hair was still slightly wet, dripping on his exposed collarbone and new shirt. A small smile appeared on his face as he saw the door to the training room. His smile quickly evaporated once he saw Sohyun through the windows. Yoongi rushed into the room, throwing his things on the floor as he made his way to her, his heart accelerating with worry.

Sohyun was asleep on the bench, but it was anything but tranquil. Her eyebrows were furrowed so deep that it made her forehead wrinkle. She breathed heavily as she twitched violently in her spot. It was as if something was holding her down. Yoongi could see the pain on her face. He could tell that she was suffering from something.

Yoongi didn’t hesitate and quickly shook her with some force. Sohyun’s eyes flung open from being grasped, quickly scanning her surroundings. She flinched back from Yoongi who then moved his hands away from her and backed up some. Sohyun relaxed once her conscious recognized that it was Yoongi. She let out a sigh, closing her eyes briefly as she slumped down against the wall.

Yoongi eyed her with concern. “Sohyun, are you alright?”

Sohyun looked up at him with uneasy glossy eyes. A pest living within her was eating her alive. Without any more thought or care, she decided to get rid of the pest. Hiding from the truth wasn’t an option anymore as concealing and pushing the pest to the corner just seemed to anger it more.

She sighed, shaking her head. “No.”

“Does this involve the nightmares you’ve been having?” Yoongi asked as he moved to sit beside her.

Sohyun looked down at her lap and nodded her head. Yoongi eyed her carefully for a moment. Without thought, he rested the back of his hand slightly above Sohyun’s knee. She eyed his opened palm, studying his hand structure and the lines on it. Her eyes flickered up to his. She could feel the heat rush to her cheeks when she was met with Yoongi staring back at her with soft and lively eyes. Sohyun slowly placed her hand in his. Yoongi gave her a tiny crooked smile as he intertwined their fingers together and then placed his other hand on top of hers.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

Sohyun wrapped her awkwardly straight fingers around Yoongi’s hand like a little girl seeking protection from her parents. She hesitated for a moment, it seeming hard for her to speak, before nodding her head.

“It’s not just nightmares, there more than just that. They revolve around the same thing. Images of me killing my best friend and being locked away in jail. I often get flashbacks and nightmares about it. I realize now that keeping my reoccurring issues to myself, or just pushing them away in the long-run has been the worse thing I could do. They affect me so badly. For five years it’s been like this and I’m tiers of it. I just want them to go away.”

Yoongi nodded his head as he listened, in the back of his mind he thought she was just having guilty nightmares of killing her friend and her prison life experience. He wasn’t wrong, but there was more to it. Being around Sohyun, Yoongi felt like she needed to remember what she had done but not hold onto so she could continue her live her life. In his viewpoint, she got her punishment and learned from it, she didn’t need to keep torturing herself over it.

Sohyun locked eyes with Yoongi. “I didn’t kill him out of cold blood. It was self-defense.”

Yoongi’s eyes widen slightly, surprise wavering over him. Sohyun looked away as she let out a bitter laugh. “Everyone always thought the same thing. I’m just a criminal. A girl who had her life together but ruined it all. They ruined it all. They didn’t even listen to me, my side of the story. The evidence they had was enough to convict me and that was good enough for them. They didn’t want to hear my story or should I say they didn’t want to know what actually happened.”
