Venus Cavannaugh.
It almost happened, I was so close. I almost kissed him and that was totally not right. I'm a married woman. As much as I want to,I can't.
What is wrong with me?
Venus, you need to get your head back in the game.
Ethan is out of reach!!
No connection?!
I really need to stop all these negative thoughts!
Argh!! What is seriously wrong with me?!
Ring! Ring!!
My phone began to play its tune. I picked it up only to see Liam's picture on the screen. My heart began to pound heavily through my chest as anxiety sets in.
I haven't had a phone call from my husband for some weeks and I want even bothered about it all because I've been distracted with my attraction for Ethan.
The phone began to ring once more. I tapped on the answer option on the screen and place the phone to my ear.
"Hello". I said.
"What took you so long to answer?". He asked annoyed.
"Sorry my hands were wet,I was trying to clean them". I lied.
He sighed.
"Zara called to tell me about your accident, are you okay?". He asked through the phone his tone feeling anything but concerned.
"Yeah, I'm getting better".
"How's Marie?"
"She's great. She misses you. I miss you". I added.
Deep down it felt like that was a lie. And I was being unfaithful to my husband and being an even bigger liar to myself. My attraction for Ethan is getting in the way of my relationship with Liam.
"I still need more time". he said desperately.
"How much time? If not for me, come back for your daughter".
"I know,I love her but I need some space".
"Space for what Liam. We need to work this out as a family and I can't help but feel like you are running away from us. please come back". I pleaded to him.
"Look Vee, you know this is what we need right now and......".
"No Liam its not and you know it". I cut in.
"Venus now's not the right time. I just called to tell you that I'm sending some money for both you and Marie". He answered feeling pissed over the phone.
"Liam you can't just change the subject". I spat angrily.
"Venus, I can't reason with you right now. I'm hanging up". He said abruptly then he hung up the phone.
"Liam, Liam". I said to the phone but it was useless as he had already cut the line.
Sadness washed over me. My own husband can't even call to ask about how I'm faring or even how his own daughter is coping without him.
I slumped top the floor as tears began to drop rapidly from my eyes showing the kind of pain I'm going through without the man I call my life partner.
