Adeline stood, stretching and warming up in her group changing room waiting to go on stage. Today in this competition Adeline had a solo first and then a group dance. The concept of her solo was a girl who had been kidnapped and was trying to escape her captor. It was called 'The Hostage' and Adeline had to admit the music and dance itself was very creepy. Her costume was a flowing white dress and she had fake bruises across her face.
Adeline now fit all of her costumes way better then before because as Clint would put it she 'finally had some meat on her bones' which was mostly true.
Not that the young girl would admit it but she was nervous. This was the first time she was performing on stage for almost 5 months and she was scared that she would mess up. Although knowing that the Avengers and her brother were going to be there brought her comfort.
Walking over to the side of the stage Adeline looked out at the audience. Her solo was after two other solos and she was trying to spot The Avengers before she went on. Not seeing them anywhere Adeline began to panic what if they're not coming she thought but they promised they would come. Don't worry they're probably just late Peter's not even here yet. They will be here I know it. She tried to reason with herself holding back tears.

"Okay team is everyone ready? We're leaving in 5 minutes so make sure you have everything you need because I am not coming back here for your sunglasses." Steve said looking at the Avengers but mainly Clint and Peter.
Just as they were about to leave a big booming sound was heard.
"Woah what was that?"
"Jarvis give me an update." Tony said.
"Sir, it looks like you have some intruders coming from the roof. There's 20 of them and they are all armed with grenades, submachine guns and throwing knifes. They look to be hydra agents."
"Okay we just need to get rid of these really quick then get to Adeline's competition okay?"

"Up next we have contestant number 47 Adeline with 'The Hostage'." they announced.
Looking out to the audience Adeline tried to spot the Avengers and her brother, sighing in disappointment when there was no such sight.
"Okay so what they broke their promise that doesn't matter at the moment. You need to go out there and win this." Adeline whispered to herself before stepping out and onto the stage and dancing her heart out. While she was dancing a few tears slipped out but everyone assumed it was just part of the dance so nobody questioned it.
"Come on Adeline we only have 20 minutes til the group routine we need to stretch and go over it." Kayleigh said making Adeline look up from her phone.
Addy: Where are you??
Addy: Peter?
Addy: Hello?? Are you coming??
Addy: You broke your promise. Again.
Sighing as she got no reply she stood up and got ready for the group dance. It was called 'Angels and Demons' and it was a beautiful dance that Adeline loved. Although at the moment the last thing Adeline wanted to do was dance.
"Next up we have entry number 49 with 'Angels and Demons'"
Walking on stage Adeline pushed away the thoughts of the Avenger and put on a facade like always and danced. This time her dance fuelled by her anger and sadness towards her so called 'family'.

Punches were thrown. Guns were shot. Bombs went off. But in the end the Avengers won. Jarvis was right it was Hydra agents they had come for Shields files but didn't expect all the Avengers and the God of Mischief to be there.
"Guys we need to leave now. Like right this second." Peter said showing the Avengers the texts from Adeline. Which set the Avengers in a state of panic.
"What are we waiting for? We need to go now."

Sitting on the stage Adeline and the rest of the girls were waiting for the awards to be called listening through all sorts of awards such as duets, trios, under 10s etc until finally it was solos for ages 12-14. Holding hands with Kayleigh Adeline waited for the results.
"I'm third place we have contestant number 34 Lucy." they announced making the audience burst into cheers. "Second place we have contestant number 42 Danielle." to which a brunette stood up and made her way to the front of the stage.
"And finally in first place with the highest technique score and the highest overall score in all the solos today is... contestant number 47 Adeline with 'The Hostage'"
Adeline stood up after hugging her team mates and walked towards the front of the stage to collect her sash and trophy smiling or at least trying to as she still couldn't spot the Avengers in the crowd.
"Now for small group awards in third place we have entry number 62 'The Challenge'. In second place we have entry number 58 'Tell me what you want' and finally are top scoring small group entry tonight is entry number 49 'Angels and Demons'!"
Which made Adeline and her team burst into smiles standing up and making their way to collect their trophy.
Walking into the changing room Adeline took out her hair and put it into a simple bun, removed her makeup and changed into some normal clothes. All she wanted to do was go home and cry. Saying goodbye to her teammates and Miss.Emilia she collected her trophy and bags before walking out, on her way to catch the bus home.
Although as she was walking out of the building she stopped at the feeling of someone grabbing her arm. "Peter? What are you doing here?" she said looking behind him and at the Avengers. "What are you talking about we're here to see you dance."
"Yeah well you're a bit late," she said ripping her arm out of his grasp "I've already preformed and got the awards you never showed up, none of you did."
"Addy we tried to something just came up" Peter tried to explain.
"Oh yeah and what was that?"
"Urm it was- it was just." Peter stumbled.
Adeline scoffed shaking her head "Really you couldn't even come up with a good excuse? Pathetic."
"Addy please." Steve said.
"No I trusted you. You all promised you would be here and you broke that promise. So just- just leave me alone." Adeline said tears welling up in her eyes before pushing past them and running out.
Finally Adeline let her tears fall and she cried all the way home. Once she made it to the safety of her room she called the one person she trusted more then anyone.
"Noah? Can you come over please?" Adeline said down the phone sniffling.
"Addy? Omg are you okay? I'll be right over."
