POV: Sebastian
We were watching Pitch Perfect and I could tell Kurt was falling asleep. Before I knew it, his breathing evened and he fell asleep on the arm of the couch.
I looked over at the sleeping boy, expecting to see a look of peaceful bliss on his face.
Instead I saw one of hurt, shock, and fear.
I gasped at the sight, knowing that this is what Kurt's face was when it was relaxed, when he let down his shields, the walls surrounding him. And I knew a thing or two about hiding things behind the walls built by people to protect them.
I continued watching the movie and trying not to disturb Kurt until I felt the boy shift in his sleep and fall onto my lap, which I had a pillow on. I was momentarily shocked but then returned to watching the movie- there was no way I was waking Kurt.
I was only disturbed when I felt the boy shaking, muttering something under his breath frantically.
Of course. Must be the nightmares.
I loosely wrapped my arms around the boy in a gentle hug. Kurt reminds me of myself more than I would like to admit, and I wanted to protect the boy from anything at this point.
When I glanced down at again I could tell Kurt had definitely calmed down and stopped thrashing about in his sleep, but I noticed something.
Kurt's sleeve of his overlarge shirt had gotten pulled up.
Stifling my gasp, I carefully took Kurt's arm in my hands, making sure he stayed asleep. I looked closely at it, suspicions being confirmed. His wrist and all up his arm was littered in small scars, the oldest white and newest varying shades of pink and red.
I softly stroked the boy's wrist before pulling down his sleeve so none of the others would see.
I knew that wasn't something you wanted people to know about quite well.
