"Hey Rem, I need to make a run to Diagon for some things. Do you want me to take Harry or are you up for watching him?" Remus looked up from his book, blinking at Sirius.
"I can watch him. Do you need me to go with you?" Remus's brows furrowed as Sirius shook his head quickly.
"No, it shouldn't take more than an hour. I'll just kip over and be straight home."
"Okay then. Try to not get into any trouble."
"Sure thing, love." Sirius wrapped himself in his leather jacket as he headed for the floo only to stop in his tracks. He couldn't floo without giving away the fact that he was actually going to the Burrow. Without warning Remus, he apparated away with a pop. Sirius landed in the field just outside of the Burrow's gate a bit unsteadily. Once he righted himself he made his way across the yard. Molly was crossing the yard just as he was and when his eyes found her his pace picked up.
"There you are Sirius, I was wondering when you'd be by. What do you need to talk about?" Molly smiled up at him as she switched her laundry basket to the other hip.
"I was hoping I could talk to you about Remus."
"Is he okay? Did something happen?"
"No, no he's fine. It's just - mainly - well -" Molly held up a hand gently.
"Come inside, I'll make some tea. Are you hungry?"
Molly led him inside before ushering him to sit down. She was bustling about when the twins ran into the kitchen being chased by Percy. They made about two rounds around the kitchen before Molly spoke,
"Boys, that's enough give whatever you took from Percy back and then go play in your room." Miraculously, the three of them froze in their footsteps before Fred gave Percy back the book that was in his hands. Quietly, the three of them left the kitchen. Sirius watched in amazement before Molly grabbed his attention by placing a cup in front of him. Sighing, he sipped slowly as she lowered herself down across from him.
"You wouldn't happen to have anything stronger would you, Molls?"
"I'm afraid not. What is going on Sirius? You mentioned Remus, the two of you haven't been fighting again have you?"
"No, no. We haven't been fighting. Not really." Sirius shook his head as he tried to find the words he was looking for. Molly patiently waited.
"What do you think about marriage?" Molly's eyes grew wide for a split moment before she cleared her throat.
"Marriage is complicated. What brought this subject up?"
"Rosmerta, yesterday as I was on my way to pick Remus up and she might've mentioned the idea. Rem and I have talked about it before. . ."
"But he's worried about you being tied down to him and plus you tend to be a bit flighty when it comes to long term commitment. Remus is in fact your longest relationship." Molly sipped her tea slowly as she peered at Sirius through her eyelashes. Sirius blanched at the red haired woman, his mouth gaping like a fish.
"Sort of. The first part is right, I mean, Remus feels it's a bad idea because of his monthly issue. The latter half, however, I'm not sure what's wrong with me." Sirius ran his hands through his hair, a growl of frustration rumbling in his chest. Molly sighed softly.
"Sirius, listen to me. Remus may not just be reluctant due to his condition. I think he knows that you also feel slightly hesitant so he's shielding himself. Have you told him about your hesitancy?" Sirius went back to their conversation last night before he leaned his head back, groaning.
