Sirius couldn't sleep. He kept trying, but every time he closed his eyes he felt the chill of his cell in Azkaban. It was insane just how much only spending one night in that place could affect someone. He looked at the man lying next to him, Remus, sound asleep for what seems to be the first time in a long time. Sighing, Sirius inched out of their shared bed, trying not to disturb him. He thought about going downstairs and making himself a glass of firewhiskey, as that would most certainly help him fall into unconsciousness, but instead he walked across the small hallway into what would be Harry's room.

Remus had done an amazing job with the room, the maroon walls upon further inspection had small snitches here and there.  Moving forward and sitting in the chair between the crib and the small chest of drawers, Sirius found a photo placed on top. He picked it up, inspecting it, to find James and Lily waving back up at him. They held an even tinier Harry in their arms, barely a week old. He cursed himself under his breath as he returned the photo back to it's home. Sirius looked around the room once more, hoping they had everything they would need and mentally making a list of things they absolutely had to pick up.

Sirius was unsure of exactly how long he had been sitting in the nursery, but when he saw movement in the doorway he glanced up to find Remus, leaning against the doorjamb. He rubbed his eyes as he yawned loudly.

"Pads, what are you doing in here? Come back to bed."

"Sorry Rem, I just couldn't sleep."

"Have you gotten any at all?" Remus walked over and leaned against the crib.

"I tried, but I don't think I have." Sirius glanced at his watch before standing.

"C'mon Moons, it's time to get moving for the day anyway." He tugged on Remus's hand as he led him down to the kitchen. Remus sighed and reluctantly followed, dragging his feet. They each got to work making their breakfast, and when Sirius nearly burned himself a thought occurred to him.

"Have we baby - proofed everything? Like covered sharp corners and stuff?"

"I placed some cushioning charms on some things last night. I think we should do a few sticking charms on the larger furniture."

"Okay good." Sirius chewed on his bottom lip as he leaned against the counter.

"Sirius, sit down and eat, it'll be fine. Once we get done in Diagon Alley we'll have everything we need to take care of Harry. I'm sure if we have any questions we could send an owl to Molly Weasley." Sirius nodded and sat down. Remus pulled open the Daily Prophet  as he sipped his coffee.

"Well, your trial made second page today."

"I figured it might, I wish they would just move on though." Sirius scoffed softly as he took a bite of his breakfast.

The two of them finished their meal in relative silence. It almost felt like it had been before Halloween, only this time the silence wasn't because they were in a huge row with each other. When Remus finished his coffee he stood up.

"Are you ready to go? We have quite a few things to get before we meet with Dumbledore."

"Are we apparating or flooing?"

"It'd be best just to floo, I think. I can't remember if Tom fixed his wards or not."

The two of them grabbed a handful of powder from the mantle and made their way to their destination. If he was being honest, Sirius didn't care much for flooing, but he knew that when they had Harry they had to get used to it. Again if he was being honest, he wasn't sure what the safest way to travel with a baby was. The thought made his stomach clench, causing him to almost lose his breakfast before he tumbled out of the fireplace at The Leaky Cauldron. He stood straight, dusting the soot off of his shirt before greeting Tom with Remus.
