Last night was actually Sam's first day of job with Foo Fighters, it turned out quite well and they got 4 hours to take a rest before they go to another venue in the morning to prepare another show. While the band get along on 2 beds. Taylor with Dave and Nate with Chris, Sam decided to not staying on a single bed that feels like rock. She choose the sofa instead.

"Are you really not gonna take that bed?" Taylor just wake up to take some water and see Sam laying on the couch, reading a book. "As you can see. I'm not. Why?"
"Nothing.. just wondering. What are you reading though?"
"Oh, this? It's my notes. I'm still trying to remember how to do this job again. You know.. it's been a long time."
"Alright.." he put his glass and back to his bed, still looking to Sam's direction. "Hey umm... You wanna hear a bad joke?"
"What? No." Sam rolls her eyes but then Taylor is whining. "Come on. Please? Just one."
"No. You're being ridiculous." Deep inside, just by seeing Taylor whining about it is already funny enough. "Sam, please?"
"Pfft. No." She can't hold a giggle that comes out from her mouth. "Sam?"
"Stop it. The way you begged is considered a bad joke already."
"Ah, no funny. Boo."
"Did you just boo-ing me?"
"Yup I did."
"Oh don't you dare."
"Why? You don't wanna hear my joke so.." Sam goes to throw a spoon to him. "Whoop! Missed."
"Sssh. Do you need to shout that loud? Your friends are sleeping." Sam start to laugh. "Don't care. Even you're a terrible spoon-thrower."
"Oh shut up Hawkins. Or I'm gonna.."
"Gonna what? Throw a fork?"
"Pffft. Stop." It's been a long time since she laugh this way. He told some real bad jokes but that what makes them funny. She loves that. "Now you're laughing, huh?"
"Yeah right." She smiles. "Thanks by the way. It feels good."
"See? My jokes aren't that bad."
"You know that's not true. They're really bad...bad jokes."
"Yeah, whatever. But you smiled after all. That's rare." Taylor smiles to her and then rolls himself into a blanket, leaving Sam smiling to herself. She can't help but feel really happy at this moment.

"Hey Taylor. Still up yet?"
"Umm?" His head popped up from the blanket and then he gets up. "Yeah? What's wrong."
"Nothing.. just asking if we can talk."
"Sure. What's that?" She sighs. She put her book down and then fold both her arms. "This is strange that.. somehow I can trust you so fast."
"Haha. Thanks. But, what's the matter? Why so serious?"
"Remember you asked me why I became so grumpy but I once was a cheerful person?"
"I do. Yeah.. I wonder why?"
"I don't know either. Maybe just.. I tried so hard to be careless. Even on the happiest event. And today, I can't believe I laughed at your joke. A very bad joke."
"You need those. You hold yourself not to laugh too long. That's why my very bad jokes affected you." Sam looks down and then looks at him, smiling. "Thank you for that. I mean that. Feels like I have friend again, after all this time."
"Oh come on. You don't have friend? You have one now."
"I know. Appreciate that."
"So. As a new friend, we should hang out sometimes. How about after show? Have a place to go?"
"Umm. Do you mind go to see a movie? It's been..."
"Oh please don't say it's been a long time. Come on, did you ever having fun before?" She giggles, "No, just work. I guess."
"Damn you need to go out more often. Don't worry, you got me."

After some hours, the clock shows that it's time for them to wake up. Start from Dave, all the boys are up. "Ugh. No one use that single bed?" Nate stretch his back. Taylor just coming out from bathroom replies, "Nope. Sam used the couch."
"Wow. You woke early Taylor?"
"Not really. I'm not sleeping."
"He's talking with me." Sam, eyes still on her notebook, says to them. Taylor walks to her and sit besides. "Ugh, you're wet." She looks up from her book and push Taylor. "Excuse me, I'm clean as I just showered. I should be the one who got disgusted."  He says, in a mocking tone.

"Alright, alright. Get a room, two of you." Dave slap Taylor's shirtless torso with his towel before he goes into the bathroom. "Naaah. I'm good." Sam rolls her eyes and nails her eyes on book again. "That's actually a good idea." Taylor smirks and whisper to her. "Ugh, no. Now get lost." She pinch his arm and giggles.

"You two sure don't need another room?" Chris laugh and then open the door. "I'm gonna get some food. Want something? Or room service is fine for you?"
"I'm good." Sam shout out to him and looks at Taylor. He seems disgusted. "What?"
"You have no idea, don't you? Food here is crap."
"Oh, alright.. suggestions?"
"Amazing burger outside." Chris cut them and suggest something. "You hear him?" Taylor rolls his eyes to Chris and then turn to him. "2 burgers Chris!"
"Okay!" Chris close the door and there are just them and Nate left behind.

"Hey, can I ask something?" Taylor looks at both Nate and Sam. "Go ahead." Nate says while Sam nods. "Is it just me, or you two don't talk much to each other?"
"That's just you." Sam disagree but Nate quickly cut her. "Nope. He's right. I mean... You talk to Chris, Dave, even close to Taylor. But not that much to me. Why? You hate me or something?"

"No. Of course not. I think you're the one who hate me.. since you're so quiet and cold to me." Sam seems confused. "Oh, come on. Not again." Nate rolls his eyes and it makes Sam even more confused. "What?" Taylor step in and explain, along with giggles."I used to think that Nate hate me too. But really Sam, it's just Nate being Nate."
"Oh, really? I'm so sorry. I thought you don't like me or something, so I tried my best to ignore you."
"Well, now you know." Nate gives her a slightly smile. "Maybe we can talk more next time." He stands up and then walk to the door. "I'm gonna go to Chris. I think I want that burger too."
"Okay." Sam smiles to Nate before he close the door. Soon as Nate left, Taylor burst a laugh.

"What's so funny?"
"This is the first time I actually see Nate so insecure about being hated. That's why I was triggered that conversation."
"He..what?"
"Yeah. Clearly to me that he was disappointed last night because you're joking with everyone but not him. You can be really cold."
"Geez. I don't mean that."
"I know. But still funny though. Nate usually doesn't give a shit. Maybe because you're a really fun person, it pissed him off that he can't joking along with you yesterday."
"Oh really? I'm not that funny. Like you said, I'm grumpy. Those jokes are sarcastic though."
"No shit. Sarcasm can be really funny." Taylor suddenly put his head on her lap. "What are you doing?"
"Since I have no sleep last night, talking to you. I need to rest my eyes for a bit." He closes his eyes and take a quick nap. Sam put her book on the table and tug his half-wet hair behind.  She reach her jacket and about to put it on Taylor but he refused. "Don't."
"Why?"
"I don't want your jacket to be wet."
"Okay then."
"Give me your hand."
"What?"
"Hand please." She gives her hand to him and then he put it in between of his hands. "I don't need anything to be warm."
