"I thought you guys will have vacation together?" She shout down to him. "Right, get up here. Then you can tell me." Taylor run upstairs and follow Sam to her room. "Don't get too comfortable. You two." Chad smirks, teases both of them before they get in her room.

"So, tell me."
"The vacation? I'll catch up later. They'll be there for 2 weeks and I can join them at the last one." Sam put a record on a player and play By The Way album. "Good choice. I love this album."
"Yeah? This is my favorite."
"You? Really? I thought your choice will be Mother's Milk or One Hot Minute."
"Why you think so?" She walks and sit besides him. "Judge from your look?"
"What? Nooo way. What's wrong with my look?"
"Haha. Nothing. Just suits most to those two albums. That's all. Anyway... Already finished the milk?" She laughs, looks at the glass and show him. "Done. You see that?"
"Alright, good then."

"Ah, since you like this album.. which track is your favorite?" Sam throw a pillow to him and punch his arm. Taylor's whining and lay down, "That's hard... Probably Throw Away Your Television. Some good beats. Chad's awesome. Yours?"
"Me? Uhh Don't Forget Me or Dosed."
"Dosed? You're pretty mellow huh?" Taylor is kinda surprised but totally understand. "Yup. I was right then. You're not that so-rough girl after all."
"Yeah. Maybe. I don't know." They caught in silence for awhile before Taylor break in with a smile.

"That's fine. Moving on." He's about to make another topic when he notices a tiny spot of tears at the corner of her eyes. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. The song is beautiful." Taylor is simply doesn't buy it. "Sam..."
"What?"
"Tell me. I'm your friend, remember?" Sam take a big sigh before she change from sitting to lay her head next to Taylor. "Okay.. you're right about my vulnerable side. Like... I always want to be tough like Chad. I fought people and trying so hard to not crying literally over anything. I'm aware of it but I can't stop that. Before I was adopted, I have no friends, or family. I was even an outsider at foster house. I was a loser. So when I got a family with tough brother, I always want to be like him. No matter what happened. It was a good thing at first, but it became unhealthy, like you said. I can't openly express my sadness. And since I start a little bit open up, to you... I feel a battle inside me to not letting my guard down. But at the same time... I trusted you, for the first time I have one friend that I can trust as much as I trust Chad."

Her voice start to crack, and she bit her lips. "Just let it out." Taylor assure her that it's okay to cry right now. "Doesn't make you looked weak at all. Come on." Finally tears coming down, but she doesn't make a sound. Just let it all down. "Sam?"
"Yeah? I looked ridiculous, right?"
"No. You looked... Human."
"I do?" She tries to laughs a little bit. "Guess it's a good thing then." It happens for almost 8 minutes and they don't say anything after that. Just Taylor watching her crying her heart out. He didn't expect to feel the pain as he watch her silence cry. How much this girl wanna scream out, he has no idea.

That feeling, the needs to comfort her turned into a sudden action. He kisses her in a blink of an eye. Not much a passive agressive like the last one. This is a pure affection. But unexpectedly, unlike the last one, this time Sam pulls herself out. "No. Taylor. It's not what friends do."
"Sam. It's... The truth is.. I don't know if I can hold myself to be only that far. I like you so much. I didn't know how to start, how to getting closer to you. All I wanna say is I want us to be.." before he can finish it, Sam cut it. "Please don't. I know where you're heading. But I really beg you not to ruin it. It's hard enough for me to find another friend. And going further will only brings bad blood in the future with you. I don't want that. You're not Fred. I don't wanna find myself hating you the way I hate him." Now he clearly can hear her sobbing. She's no longer cry in a silence. She's sobbing. "Please don't change. Don't stop to be my friend." He put his hands on her cheeks. "Okay. As you wish. I'm..." He take a deep breath, "Still your friend. You have my words. Don't cry, it hurts me." After trying to assure her, she's finally willing to hug him, bury her face on his chest. He just can't stop trying to comfort her. It goes on for they don't know how long. Freezing, in a perfect silence. He doesn't realize she's start to falling asleep within his arms. "I'll never leave.. I promise." He whisper on her ears. "I'll stay.. as your friend. No matter what."

When everything is silent, Chad comes in with lunch and else, just to find his sister is asleep on his friend's arms. "Sorry. Didn't know she's sleeping. Everything is okay?"
"Yeah. She just..had emotional explosions."
"Oh.. right. Sorry about that Taylor."
"No.. that's fine." In fact, Chad can see a sad color from Taylor's face and he's not okay himself. Taylor looked really broken in the inside. "You sure you're okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay. Why?"
"You looked pretty bumped, and my sister is sleeping on your arms. You can tell something did happen." Taylor smirks on one side, trying to assure Chad that he's fine. "No. Really. I'm good. But can you help me to move her? I think she needs to lay down. I don't wanna hurt her back by sleeping this way."
"Sure. Let me lift her up." Chad goes to him and slowly moves her away from Taylor. And then he put pillow and else on the bed, along with a blanket to cover her.

"You need to go Taylor?" He notices that Taylor is about to leave the room. "Yeah. I'm thinking about joining Dave and the band on vacation. I need to go, haven't pack anything yet."
"Alright. There's nothing you can do here anymore. I'll accompany you outside."
"Thanks... Thank you so munch." Taylor walks outside with Chad at the front. After he got a cab, they put all luggages in and Taylor gives Chad a big hug. "See you later Chad."
