-Gwen's P.O.V.-

"Gotta question for you smart ass, do you believe in Hell?" After I asked that many of the scientist started roaring with laughter. I was shocked considering this was a place that studied supernatural creatures. Which had me convinced non of them had met a demon yet, or a threatening monster for that matter. Some of the hunters got angry like me, they knew where I was going with this. "Hell isn't real." I heard the same guy shout and I yelled back. "Let me tell you a story that I haven't even shared with my partner yet. December 21, 2012, the day the world was suppose to end. While most of you were sitting around with your thumb up your asses, myself and over seventy of the best hunters were in a middle of a war. A war that couldn't and shouldn't have been won, the beginning of the apocalypse. We were out numbered ten to one by demons and angels, we had to swallow our prides and ask help from monsters to fight along side us. And Lucifer himself came out of the gates of Hell and was about to fight the arch angel Michael. I watched as demons and angels slaughtered countless lives on the battlefield. Toward the end of the fight myself and two other men who survived together we pushed Satan into a cage made by an extraordinarily powerful witch. We used all the strength we had just to tackled him inside. Then at the last minute I got yanked out of the cage so I wouldn't get dragged into Hell with them. Countless men, women, and monsters sacrificed their lives to make sure pieces of shits like you could live. After everything was said and done I was the last one standing, I went head to head with the devil himself and lived to tell about it thanks to those brave souls and who ever or whatever dragged me out of that cage. To this day I don't know why I was pulled out but since then I devoted my life to saving lives." My eyes watered as I remember that horrible day and all the good men and women we lost.

"I am part of the reason Earth didn't turn into the new Hell. I'm also part of the reason why demons and angels aren't using most of you as a fucking meat suit. I could give two shits if hunters think I'm a celebrity for being the only survivor of that day. But don't you dare think less of a hunter because they're the ones who protect your sorry ass from the monsters that want to eat you." The man's face went completely pale and the room was so quiet you could hear a pen drop. "I'm sure most of you scientists think I'm as insane as my partner. Personally, you all can suck a fat one, because I don't give a damn what you believe. I save lives, I help and protect people when I can. Now let me ask you this you arrogant bastards, what the hell have any of you done to help humanity?" The silence continued, and many people had their heads down in shame. "Now does anyone have any questions or comments they like to say?" The room stayed at an awkward silence. "Well if no one has anything to say meeting adjourned." Then I stormed out of the room.

I ran to the closes woman's restroom then straight into a stall and locked it. Then proceed to bash my head against the door. That was probably the worse speech anyone could have given. I sigh heavily, then punch the stall hard enough I broke the lock and it flew open. I start busting out in hysterical laughter, I felt like such a hypocrite. I had to lecture these people about the importance of team work when I still struggled with it. I hated having help, I always thought I'd be fine on my own. I laughed so hard I was crying, then the tears wouldnt stop. I remembered explaining my story and still didnt understand why to this day I was alive. I wiped my eyes and force myself to stop crying. I pull out my flask and finish what was left in it then hurried back to Dibs office.

"Enjoying your nap Mothman?" I blink to see Dark Booty leaned against my desk giving me a half smile. "I was... Where's Black Cat?" I looked around to see she was still gone. "Shes probably on her way here she made quiet the show during the meeting." I slam my head on the desk and groan. I knew I shouldn't have left her to do the speech by herself. "How many people did she beat up?" Knowing her she probably fought half the audience. "Actually, she didn't hurt anyone, surprisingly... She actually did a very good job when she gave her speech. Also talked very highly of you." He pulls out his phone and shows me a video of Gwen's speech. After I watched it I started snickering and Booty gave me a questionable look. "Why are you laughing at your partner? She even tried to prove a point to make you look less insane." I laughed even harder and tried to explain, "She needs to learn to listen to her own advice." I felt guilty, considering she was probably uncomfortable talking about her past. But, I just couldn't stop laughing. We hear the door open then slam shut and see Gwen taking her sunglasses off and I seen her eyes were red as if she had been crying, which caused me to finally stop laughing. I walk up and hug her tightly and she didn't freeze up like she usually does, she held me back and said softly. "Can we go to your house now...?" "Ya, we can go home I still got that bottle of scotch we can split." I reminded her and her attitude changed in a drop of a hat. She looks up at me with a huge smile across her face. "Does booze always fix your problems?" She shakes her head, "No, food and weed do the trick too." We started laughing at eachother, till we realized how close we were. We seperated and blushed a little then I heard Dark Bootie snickering then say, "Don't forget I still need vampires." Gwen rolls her eyes and gives him a sarcastic thumbs up. "I'll-we'll take care of it." She held up her fist toward me and I fist bumped her back.

We quickly went out the front door before we could be stopped by hunters and made a dash for my car. I drove us straight home and Gwen was quiet the whole way, I couldn't help myself and say something corny to cheer her up, "Whats the matter cat got your tongue?" I glance at her and see her eyes were watering but she was giggling. "Just thinking about some shit from the past..." She pulls out her flask and shakes it then started pouting. I decided to try to pry and see if I could learn a little more about her. "Care if I ask what you're thinking about?" I glance at her and she bit her bottom lip and looks out the car window. "I explained part of my past. I was in a war with the devil himself and I had him in a cage. And some how I got dragged out of there, and I ask myself every day, why was I chosen to live? I should have died back there in that war. I didn't have any blood relatives, hardly any friends, what the hell made me so damn special? Who and why did I get dragged out of that cage? People and monsters with friends, families, even children died on that field. I tried to protect them, and so many of them saved me and died protecting me..." I hear her voice crack while she was talking trying to hold back tears. I glance at her again and see she covered her face with her hands and was shaking. I put my hand on her shoulder and she shook it off. "I've prayed to God and angels, I've talked to demons just to figure out what happened and why I was saved." She started sobbing, I never seen her this upset or even cry like this. Once I made it to the house I parked in the driveway and look at her.

"Be grateful, you're here for a purpose or else you wouldn't be alive. I wish I could give you the answer you want, but I can get you drunk and be someone you can talk to." I didn't know what else to say to her. Honestly, I was amazed she was being this open with me, she never seemed like the one to talk about her feelings. But then again, I'm sure she wasn't completely sober if her flask was empty. I get out of the car and open the door for her and she gives me a small smile. "Is kitty ready to get drunk?" I offered and ruffle her hair. She gets out of the car to shove me playfully.

We went inside and once I turned the lights on I see someone sitting at my bar. Gwen pulls out her gun and points it at the figure. "Dib, there's a demon in your house." Once I saw who was sitting at my bar I put my hand of  top of her gun and had her lower it. "That's not a demon, that's my sister." I see Gaz with the lastest hand held gaming console in her hand. Her hair was still short and purple and she was wearing a black short dress covered in skulls. "Gaz?  Why are you here?" She glances at Gwen then at me."Dad wanted me to come by to tell you he has another award ceremony coming up. He also wanted me to see if you were actually talking to a girl." She stares at Gwen and she glares back. Gwen whispers in my ear, "Are you sure she isn't a demon?" My sister wasn't a demon, but I was almost certain she had no soul. "Interesting to see you found a chick who is just as crazy as you." Gwen holds up her gun and whispers "Are you sure I can't shoot her?" I shake my head at her and she puts her gun away and goes to the bar to grab a drink. "Dads ceremony is tomorrow, bring your weird girlfriend with you." Gwen and I said in unison. "We're not dating!"
