The last few days I've been working day shifts at the diner. And tonight I'll be working night shift and then I'm off for a few days. And then we all are going hiking for a few days with my dad and the rest. I'm meeting Alex's girlfriend today since she is going with us.
I woke up and Leah was already awake texting on her phone when I woke up.
"Morning." I said breaking her attention away from the phone.
"Hey." she says bluntly.
"What's up Leah?"
"Nothing."
"I can see something is bothering you. Is it Alex? The fact that he has a girlfriend?"
"Don't be silly Mia. I am not into your brother."
"Well you have been this way since then."
"It's not Alex or his bitchy girlfriend."
"Oh so she's a bitch."
"You will see if you meet her."
"Then what is bothering you?"
"Fine I'll tell you." she sighs and she sits up.
"I like Ryan."
"Ryan? Our Ryan?"
"You mean your Ryan?"
"Ryan and I are just friends Leah you know that."
"Well everyone knows he likes you. And he doesn't even notice me."
"Do you want me to talk with him?"
"No. We have been talking but he doesn't like me."
"How do you know?"
"I just do."
"How long have you been talking?"
"Since you and Dylan went to his house."
"Were you talking to him right now?"
"Yeah."
"Then what is the problem? Why do you think he doesn't notice you?"
"Cause every time we talk he asks how you are."
"I'll talk to him."
"Don't. Just leave it."
"I'll talk to him after my shift okay."
"Whatever." she says and she gets up. She walks around.
"So what happened with you and Dylan?"
"Nothing." I said. I know it wasn't the truth but Dylan and I both promised to keep this between us.
"Really?" she looks at me like she doesn't believe me.
I got up and shrug at her.
"Yeah. Really. We just talked and hanged out with his mom and sister."
"Whatever." she rolled her eyes at me.
I went out of the room and I went into the bathroom. I quickly took a shower and did my deeds and got dressed. She did the same while I was getting ready and we both went down to the kitchen. We got some breakfast and we helped Caroline in the house before Alex's girlfriend comes.
After a while I went upstairs and got ready to go to the diner for my shift.
I put on my uniform and I put my hair into a ponytail.

I went down and heard Alex's girlfriend was here.
She was being all nice to Caroline and my dad. She glared at Leah from time to time. I went to them and Caroline hooks her arm into mine, pulling me close to meet her.
"Julia. This is my daughter Mia. Mia this is Julia. Alex's girlfriend."
"It's so nice to meet you Mia." she says all friendly.
"You too." I smiled at her.
"I heard so much about you the other day I came here." she says. I could see by her attitude she is one of those who is used to getting what they want. One of the popular one's.
"Oh." I just said.
"You are working tonight right?" she asks.
"Yeah."
"Great. Cause Alex and I are meeting some of my friends there. They are my best friends."
"Oh cool. I have to get going."
"Leah. You and Dylan can join us."
"Um. Sure." Leah says.
"Great then it's a date."
"What?" I asked in surprise.
"Well Alex said Dylan is single. And I thought they can be each other's dates for tonight."
Dylan looks at me and I at him and I look at Leah.
"As friends yeah. I don't like Dylan. I have a boyfriend." Leah says smirking at her.
"Oh I just assumed you were single." she says.
"Yeah." Leah fake smile at her.
"Thank you." I lip talk to her. She just nods and smile at me.
"I better go." I said looking at the time.
"Oh sure. See you later then." she smiles. I just nod at her.
"Bye Mia." Caroline and my dad said together. I just waved at them. And I left the house.
