I went into the diner and it was quite busy. I quickly run to the back and log in for my shift and got my apron. 

"Hi Mia." John says. He is my boss. 

"Hi John." 

"We have a busy night ahead of us."

"I can see that." I chuckled.

He goes to the front and I followed him. Some of the waitresses were busy with tables and I asked where I can help. They showed me the tables where I can help and I went to help. 

After a while it started to get a bit quieter and I saw Alex and the others came in. They got a table and I just waved at them making my way to the back. One of the other waitresses went to them. I got some of my tables orders and went to give it to the tables. 

I was busy with all my tables not paying any attention to my brothers table. I was busy taking orders and went to the back again. I placed my orders and got the drinks ready. I took the drinks and put them on a tray. I walked down the aisle. Where Alex's table were. 

"Mia." I heard someone yelling for me. I turned around and when I do I look straight into the one person I didn't want to see this summer eyes. My eyes locked on him. Brandon. I started shaking and he looks at me and smirks. I dropped the tray and with the noise around me I snapped back to reality.

"Mia is everything okay?" Julia asks when she sees me looking all panicked and looking to the floor to the mess. I just stood there and I nod not breaking my stare from Brandon. 

John came to clean up the mess and I didn't really know what to do. I was frozen inside.

"Mia this is my best friends. Melanie and Rachel. And this is Rachel's boyfriend. B-"

"Brandon." I mumbled out. I felt a stare on me but didn't look where it was coming from.

"Wait you know him?"

I just nod and looked down to the floor.

"We go way back." Brandon says.

"Excuse me." I said and I went to the back. 

I leaned against the wall at the back in the corner. Tears come to my eyes. I hold my hands in my hair. John comes to me.

"Are you okay Mia?"

"Yeah..." I said looking down.

"Are you sure?"

I nod and wipe the tears away.

"Why don't you go home."

"No. I'm fine."

"Go home Mia. We'll manage here." he says and he gives me my pay check for the night.

"Thanks." I said and I took the apron off. I logged out and I walked home.

I needed to clear my mind from what happened. My phone rings and I look at it.

"Hi baby."

"Where are you?"

"I'm on my way home."

"Where are you now?"

"I'm two blocks away from the diner."

"Okay I'll meet you there in few minutes. Wait for me. Leah is coming with me."

"Okay." I hanged up and waited a while.

Dylan and Leah soon joins me.

"Hey."

"So that's Brandon?" Dylan asks.

"How do you know?"

"By the way you reacted." 

"Yeah it was pretty obvious." Leah said.

"I didn't expect to see him." I rolled my eyes.

"That gang makes me sick." Leah says crossing her arms.

"Me too." Dylan nods.

"There must be a reason Alex likes Julia."

"Yeah. She's popular." Dylan says.

"Lets go home." I shrug my arms.

They both nod and we walked home.

"So something did happen between the two of you the day at Dylan's house?" Leah asks out of the blue while we are walking home. 

Dylan and I look at each other and then we both just stayed quiet.

"Are you together now?" she asks.

"Yes. But we're keeping it a secret for now." Dylan says.

"This is so great." she says all excited. 

We both chuckled and Dylan takes my hand while we continue walking home.
