Between The Lines [Janet & Aja]

So based on the previous comments, the Between The Lines Sequel will come before the Dark Sequel. I have both storylines made out and mapped entirely, so I actually might give both at the same time, just don't hold me to it. Lol. Okay guys, let's get into this.

January 24th

"I just don't know what I should do, Shawn." I vented out as we sat at my house on the couch. "Her mother doesn't like me. Her friends barely do. I can tell it's affecting her something terribly. I'm just in a bad position."

"Well, yeah. You are."

I squinted at Shawn. "Can you not be nonchalant for a second?"

"Fine, Janet, just admit you love the girl. Stop saying that 'you care about her' bullshit and admit it. You dropped Mariah who was a happy part time hoe for this woman. You don't do that for no deeply cared about feeling. You do that when you're in love, but for some reason you go beyond to try to protect her from things that she deserves to know."

"That's her mother." I bypassed the other things and focused on the last part.

"Okay and? She's grown and so is Aja. The woman was dead wrong for saying that to you, I don't care." Shawn provided no excuse. "If she doesn't like you, then she doesn't need to put on a facade with Aja like she does. That's stupid."

"But—."

Shawn smacked her lips at me. "Make another damn excuse and I'm going to punch you in your throat, and don't act like I won't do it, cause I already punched your girlfriend once. Matter fact, where is Aja?"

I checked my phone and saw that it was 6:30.

"Probably just getting off." I replied. "Our conversations have gotten really scarce. I can tell that something is wrong, but for some reason she won't speak on it."

"See, that's y'all damn problem. Always want to shut down and not speak on shit. It's going to come back and bite y'all in the ass sooner than later." My friend shook her head. "You think you exempt from being faithful because you Janet Jackson, with your bougie ass."

"Does it look like I was left off Bad and Boujee?" I asked her.

She busted out laughing. "Shut up!"

I shrugged. "I'm trying to be faithful."

"Don't try. Do. Be faithful. Let me ask you this, cause I know you better than you think I do, you still talking to Mariah aren't you?"

"No." Shawn straight faced me until I tugged at my ear.

"See! Don't try and lie to me. You stuck on that woman cause she was all you knew when you and Wissam was messing around. You need to handle things with that woman. Seriously, handle things."

Sighing, I looked down for a moment before speaking. "I'm trying."

Shawn rolled her eyes at me. "No you aren't! You two together is like oil and water and it's going to stay like that unless y'all build a relationship of trust, communication, and love. You can't lie to her and have her thinking that she is your only one. That's not fair to her."

"So what should I do?"

"End things with Mariah!" Shawn snapped loudly. "Damn, I've said it in different ways about 20 times now! Shit Janet, you need to make a choice. Either temporary ass Mariah or permanent Aja. Your damn choice to make."

My mind tossed and turned. "Mariah's been here longer—."

"Oh hell no!" My friend shot up. "I know you aren't about to pick that Christmas diva over Aja!"
