Aja King
September 28th

Music flowed through my ears as it blared with hip hop music. I was for sure that someone should have shut this party down by now.

I was looking down below me, and noted how small everyone looked to me from this rooftop.

"What ya thinking on babes?" A voice whispered in my ear as a kiss was placed behind my ear.

Smiling, I replied. "Nothing much baby, just looking."

She nodded, as her arms wrapped around my frame. "Mm. I knew I would find you somewhere secluded."

"These aren't my people baby, I mean I don't have a problem with them. They are actually pretty cool, just—."

"You don't have to explain baby. You know I understand." Mira replied softly. "Come meet someone for me though."

Nodding, I turned and grabbed her hand as she led me through the crowds of people. Amirah walked up to this interracial couple, they looked a bit older, but still I would say early 40's. The woman could go for her 30's.

Cause you know, black just doesn't crack.

The woman smiled at my girlfriend. "Oh sweet heart is this her?"

Amirah nodded. "Mommy, this is my girlfriend Aja. Aja this is my mother Denise and my father Keith."

My hand trembled slightly from my nerves sky rocketing and I felt Amirah squeeze it as a way to comfort me.

"Hi, it's nice to finally meet you all." I greeted clearly. Even though my nerves were bad now, my face and voice never showed it.

The life of a actress I guess.

"Oh don't be all formal honey." Her mother replied as she smiled at me. "Call me Momma Denise and this is Keith."

"Now you can call me Pops and you're welcome by the way. I gave my daughter her good taste." Amirah's father joked which caused me to giggle.

Mira sighed. "Daddy, really?"

"Yes I'm sure. I mean look at your momma, princess. I gave you good taste." He replied.

"Hold on now Keith, what about me? I got good taste." Momma Denise exclaimed.

He chuckled. "Not if you married me. You married me for the genes, Nissy. You know you did."

My eyes widened and Amirah spoke. "Daddy! Stop. You're embarrassing me!"

"Am not. Sweetie are you going to tease my daughter?"

I shook my head at his question as I chuckled. "No sir. That's not like me."

Amirah's mouth dropped. "She's so lying right now."

Her dad and I busted out laughing before he nodded. "Oh yeah Mira, I like this one. Got a sense of humor on her. She might be the one, mija."

My girlfriend smiled at me and I smiled back. "Honestly, daddy."

"This is cute!" Her mother gushed out. "I like her baby doll. Well, we should tell you that you are one of the first people Mira has introduced us to since Kerah."

Who was Kerah?

Mira looked at her mother and sent daggers her way. "Seriously?"

Momma Denise frowned at her. "I was not aware that Kerah was a none speaking of topic. Sorry."

"Whose Kerah?" I questioned as I looked between my girlfriend and her parents.

"Nobody." Amirah spoke quickly.
