Aja
July 3rdI was running around crazy. Today was the A Heart's Foundation's launch and I had to make sure everyone was in their places for this. It was coming up on a year of Amirah's death and lately I haven't even been able to sit still long enough to get sad on the subject. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get sad though, I had been light on my feet for a while.
We had ran through many venues but the one on the beach really pulled me harder than others for some reason. Maybe because Amirah came to me the first time in the cave on the beach. I don't know, but I know that I made sure we had a stage on the private beach for todays foundation.
"Okay, are all mics set?" I asked the tech manager as I held a clipboard full of papers in my hand.
He nodded. "All set Miss King, we tested them and there was no feedback. You'll be good to go."
"Alright. Thank you Ted." I smiled at him as I continued on to my next journey which was the lights crew.
Before I could make it, someone yelled. "Slow down! It'll be alright. Calm down and take a breath."
Turning around, I caught eyes with Alex and Karla. Smiling, I waved. "I'm sorry guys, the doors open in 15 and I'm just trying to make sure everything is right."
They nodded before Karla complimented. "I love the blue and white color scale. What made you go so simple yet elegant?"
"Uh, it reminded me of Mira if I'm being honest. Blue was her favorite color so I knew I wanted to do that and white for the purity of it all. However, I'm so glad you like it." I exhaled with relief. "Lord knows I wanted everything to be perfect because that woman was perfect."
They smiled slightly at me as Karla nodded. "Yeah it's gonna be perfect Aja, don't worry."
"Best friend!" A males voice called out and I looked past Karla and Alex to see Alfred coming in.
