A Family At Last

A new person, A new family

(Jerome's POV)

Me and Ian walk into my house carrying bags of clothes. "We're home! Skyler, can you help us unpack the bags?" I yell down the hall. I hear a door open and Skyler and Ty walk out. "Sure." She smiles and walks to the table we set the bags on.

Ty just stands in the doorway, looking down at his feet. "Ty?" He looks up and he has tears down his face. "Hey, what's wrong?" I find myself walking over to him. Once I'm at his side he looks up at me. "It... It's just that, you're... you're the first real family I've ever had. And, and I'm so thankful for that. Thank you."

I smile and hug him. I can hear Ian and Skyler walking over. They hug him, I can feel their arms around me. I feel myself getting teary eyed, Skyler is crying and I can hear Ian sniffling behind me. We stay hugging and crying for about two or three minutes.

We break away from the hug and Skyler gets some tissues for everyone. I start wiping away the tears and my cell phone starts ringing. "I'll be right back." I walk into my room and shut the door. I look down at the caller I.D. and it says Miracle Hospital. I stare at the phone, hands trembling as I reach down to answer it.

"H, H... Hello?" I stare at the floor. "Hello, Is the Mr. Smith?" "Yes." "I have some good news for you..." I smile, "Rain will be okay. She made it through. You may come to see her whenever you'd like but she will be sleeping for a while." "Thank you! Thank you so much!"

"You have one very strong girlfriend Mr.Smith." I smile, "I know. Do you know when she'll wake up?" "We don't have a precise time but it should be soon." "Thank you, I'll be over very soon." "Alright, were looking forward to seeing you." I hung up and took a breath.

I walk out of my room and just stare at Ian, Ty and Skyler. Ian frowns, "Please don't tell me..." He looks down, "Fine, I won't tell you the good news." I smile and Skyler jumps up and down. Ian looks up, "She's going to be okay! We can come and see her A.S.A.P!" Skyler looks at Ian then at Ty.

"Ty, do you remember when I was talking about Rain?" He nods, "Is she the one you guys are talking about right now? Is she alright?" Skyler nods, "Do you want to go see her?" He looks confused, "Are you sure you'd like me too?" He looks at all of us. "She is my girlfriend, she is part of our family. I'd love for you to see her."

Ty smiles, "Thank you, that means a lot to me." We hug again and I smile. "We can leave once you've picked out an outfit you like." I hand him the bags and he walks in the bathroom. It takes him about seven minutes to find something he likes and comb his hair.

He comes out wearing a red plaid polo, some ripped jeans, some converse and a gray beanie. His hair is smoothed down now. He cleans up well. "Oh my... you look amazing! Can you turn around?" Skyler says eagerly. He slowly turns. "How do you feel?" Ian asks, "I feel like a new person." He smiles.
