Hisashi was forced to tell Izuku about everything when he turned 7.
Izuku manifested his quirk.
It was as Hisashi feared – All For One.
But something was weird. He couldn't feel All For One at all in his son.
His son described it as feeling something in every single human. How many quirks they had was one of it and Izuku was shocked when he saw that his father had a few too many and first thought that his own quirk was defect. Izuku felt a certain familiarity with one of his quirks – All For One.
One difference between them was that Izuku could not see or feel what quirks certain people had yet. It took years for Hisashi to manage that, so he could relate.
"Izuku, I must talk to you about something very important," began Hisashi sighing – he did that a lot lately, didn't he? – and for one second Izuku was really surprised because his father was never this serious.
"What is it?" Hisashi's problem was: He was obliged to tell Izuku now. But Hisashi wasn't really ready. He feared that Izuku would hate him.
How was the best way to begin this?
"I told you my quirk was fire breathing, but that isn't my real quirk." said Hisashi, hurting a little bit on the inside when he saw Izuku's confused and simultaneously hurt expression.
"What? But you showed me your fire breathing a few times already, didn't you? Or was that an illusion? No, I felt the heat, I'm pretty sure, so that can't be it... maybe it's one of the aspects of your quirk and you just hid another part? But you said it like you had an entirely different quirk altogether–" Oh yeah, he started to begin his mutter habit a little while ago. They should work on that.
"Izuku."
"Oh, sorry, I muttered again, didn't I?" Izuku laughed nervously and scratched his head.
He was clearly embarassed. "Back to topic, yes, as you said just now, I have an entirely different quirk."
"No illusions then?"
"Nope."
"But what is it then, I mean, how can you breathe fire when this isn't your actual quirk and it isn't an illusion either?" asked Izuku curiously, tilting his head to the side.
"You see, it is one of my quirks, as you saw correctly with your quirk," started Hisashi his explanation. Izuku's eyes widened.
"But there were at least five! How can you have so many?! How is that even possible?!" His eyes sparkled.
"I'm coming to that in a minute. You inherited my quirk, Izuku. My quirk is called 'All For One' and can steal other peoples quirk. I can also give these quirks to other people," continued Hisashi.
"That's so cool!" Huh. Alright, maybe he thought a little bit too much into this whole explaining thing. "And what happens to the people who get their quirk taken? Like, are they dying or something like that?" ... Hisashi didn't know what to think of that. Was a 7-year-old supposed to think of such things? He saw his notebooks and quickly realized that Izuku thought about many things when considering quirks, but that definitely wasn't normal. Maybe it was the All Might video? Yeah, he could put the video at fault for the moment.
He should look more into the matter later. Or maybe it was his influence? Did he slip up at some point? Did Izuku hear one of his phone calls with the League? Or maybe Izuku was just too mature for his age? That was out of the question because that was true, but still.
"No, they don't die. They are probably out cold for a few days, but they're alive," explained Hisashi again.
Izuku let out a sigh of relief. "That's good"
