Izuku lived with his father for as long as he can remember.
All For One – or rather Midoriya Hisashi, but that wasn't even his real name, only his father knew his own name, nobody else knew – was a really caring father, despite him being the leader of the biggest and most dangerous known villain organization.
Izuku's fourth birthday went by with no problems. The Bakugou's came by, along with a few of Izuku's other friends and they played the whole day.
Everyone waited for Izuku's quirk to show up, but it didn't, sadly.
So, everyone went home and Izuku was left sad.
"Izuku?" "Yes, Father?" asked the little Izuku, looking up to his father. "Don't despair, you get your quirk eventually," Hisashi tried to cheer Izuku up, with little avail. But he really hoped Izuku wouldn't get his quirk and come after his mother. "Father? Your quirk is fire breathing, right? Can you do it for one second, please? I want to see it again, it's so beautiful!" Ah, that's right. Hisashi told Izuku about his fire breathing quirk. He could still remember the former holder. Well, at least Izuku's eyes sparkled again. He liked heroes too much for Hisashi's taste. But he couldn't blame a 4-year-old for liking the heroes that save the day from the heroes. He really couldn't. Someone his age wouldn't understand what society really looked like.
"No, not here, Izuku. We don't want the house to burn down, do we?" asked Hisashi playful, what got a giggle out of Izuku. "No, we don't want that"
"What do you think about going to the mall and buying a birthday present for you there?" Hisashi sighed and smiled when he saw Izuku jumping up and down with joy.
And what did Izuku want that day?
An All Might action figure.
