Harry's POV
After saying goodnight to everyone, it was surprisingly easy to fall asleep, but my dreams soon turned into nightmares that woke me. When I woke up, I was sweating and panting. I looked around and noticed it was still pretty early in the morning, everyone was still asleep.
Everyone except for Ron.
Who wasn't in his bed. His sheets were neatly made, or as neat as they could get with Ron, and his pyjamas were folded somewhat messily on it.
I was almost about to panic and grab the Marauders Map to go look for him, when he entered the room. He was sweating and in our DADA duelling clothes.
"Ron! What the fuck! Where did you go?" I hissed. Ron looked up shocked.
"Oh um. I was just, um, y'know, out on a walk?" he told me, though it was said more like a question.
"You were out on a walk... in your DADA duelling outfit?" I asked him sceptically. I may be slightly oblivious sometimes, but I am not stupid.
"Yes?"
"That is bullshit and we both know it." I huffed. "Ron, I am your best friend, i should at least know where you're sneaking off to."
Ron looked conflicted.
"Fine," he relented, "I was getting private training classes with Prince. I just wanna be good at something that doesn't involve magic!"
"Why didn't you tell me about the lessons? I could've helped you." I told him.
Ron scoffed. "No offence Harry, but you kinda suck at it. And, I wanted professional help."
"Yeah, well you could have still told me! We're best friends and you can't even tell me when you're getting helped by someone who might be our enemy,"
"Seriously Harry? Not everything is about you! And not everyone is out to get you! I'm you're best friend and there's probably things you haven't told me! Why can't I do something to better myself? Why must you always be that best at everything? Why can't I be good at something too?" Ron ranted. He glared at me before grabbing his school robes and heading angrily for the bathroom.
I huffed and flopped back into my bed.
'I am not like that! I don't have to be the best at everything! He's just mad that I was better naturally. Maybe I did do somethings wrong, but I was better at the beginning.' I thought angrily.
There was no point in going back to bed now so I decided to start getting ready. Avoiding Ron as best as I could.
Breakfast was... awkward. With Ron and I upset at each other, things were pretty odd (a/n *cough* Panic! at the Disco *cough*). Hermione was trying to figure out what happened, but neither me nor Ron would talk about it or to each other. Ginny was getting fed up with us, but luckily Luna was there to calm her down. If that's what you could call Luna talking about pixies that sing death songs and eat flesh for fortune telling.
"Seriously, Ron, Harry, what happened," Hermione asked in an impatient voice.
"Nothing. Just betrayal." I stated curtly. Ron growled and turned to Hermione.
"I was just getting tutoring from Prince, but now Harry's mad that I'm actually putting effort into being better than him," Ron sneered, still not directly talking to me.
Hermione looked like she wanted to say something to us, but held back.
"Y'know what, I don't think I care, but until you two can grow up could you please leave me out of it?" she said instead.
"Fine." Ron and I snapped at the same time, we both glared at each other.
I rolled my eyes and got up. "I'm heading to class," I told Hermione, Luna, and Ginny.
Ginny just rolled her eyes and kept her focus on Luna, while Hermione groaned and took her books out to look over them before class.
I huffed and left, turning towards the left once I exited the Great Hall.
I heard footsteps rapidly coming towards me and turned putting my hands up defence.
"Potter, I need to tell you something." Malfoy panted.
I slowly lowered my hands. "What? And make it quick, I don't want to listen to you whine all day," I snapped.
"I wanted to warn you about something," he growled.
"What? That you're going to come for me when I'm asleep to get revenge for me killing Voldemort," I snapped.
Malfoy glared. "Why would I do that. I don't even like Voldemort and honestly, even if I did, you're not worth the trouble," he informed me, "what I wanted to warn you about is that someone is out for your blood and you should get better at sword fighting so you can actually beat him."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "Yeah, okay, whatever you say," I rolled my eyes again and walked away.
'What was that about? Some new villain or something wants to kill me. Like that's not new.' I paused in my thoughts. 'But That is suspicious, why would Malfoy warn me. It's s probably a joke. I shouldn't worry.'
I huffed. I would not worry about something Malfoy told me. For all I know, he's just pranking me and waiting for me to make a fool or myself.
I nodded, that's it, it's a prank and I don't have to worry.
Even though some small part of me deep inside thinks that I should be worrying and that maybe, just maybe, this isn't a prank and Malfoy really is trying to warn me about something.
'No, no he's not.' I shook my head. Malfoy would never warn me about things like that. If anything, he'd just sit back and watch as I'm being torn to shreds by some imaginary villain.
'I need to head to class.' I reminded myself. Merlin knows what Hermione would do if I were late.
Time to head off to class then I guess. Which would hopefully be good since Ron won't be there to distract me and bring me down.
'Wait, what class am I going to?' I wondered.
