Also, I lied in chapter sixteen. It was actually five more chapters, but now I might just merge a two chapters together and have four. Or less chapters than that, I'm not sure what I want to keep anymore for the end. I'll probably be changing some things.
Harry's POV
Ron, Hermione, and I were sitting in the boys dormitories in Gryffindor Tower. The same night that we snuck into Prince's room. Hermione was trying to convince us, mostly me apparently, that Prince was not here to harm us. As well as trying to convince us, again, mostly me, that Prince's friends weren't evil either.
"I know they're not evil now 'mione! But they're up to something! I don't know if it's a good or bad something, but they are! Believe me, I've spent more time with Prince than you have," I stated. Hermione huffed.
"That's not the point. The point is that they aren't. Up to anything. They're just here as students, or in Prince's case, a teacher. They're not here for any scheming or anything," she argued.
"I don't get why you're so hung up on this! Right now you're just being paranoid." Ron accused.
"What!" I squawked. "I'm not! And even if I am I have the right to be! I've had people trying to kill me all my life! And on top of that I just won a war last year and some of the people following Voldemort could still be out to get me!"
"And we get that Harry, but we've also got that risk. Maybe not the killing Voldemort, but we are your best friend and people might think to just skip you and kill us instead to get back at you for killing Voldemort." Hermione reasoned.
"Yeah mate. We got things like that to think about too, but these guys are actually good guys. You can just tell it. Even Ginny likes them, she's basically a guard dog, so you know they really are good people." Ron pointed out. I hugged and rolled my eyes.
"It's also not very nice to judge people before you've really gotten to know them. If we all did that, we might not have become friends like we did." Hermione pointed out. I hate when she makes a good point.
"Fine." was the only thing I replied with, and rather reluctantly too. I wasn't completely convinced that they were good, but if my friends trusted them, maybe I should make an effort to trust them?
But who am I kidding? I don't really trust them. I probably won't ever trust them. Though Ron and Hermione make some good points. Maybe I'll start looking at things differently?
All in all, I still don't trust Prince and his friends one hundred percent. Maybe like, twenty or thirty percent? I don't know, but I'll still sceptical of them.
The next morning we sat with Ginny and Luna at breakfast. Prince and his friends were nowhere to be seen, which just makes me not trust them more.
"So, did you guys hear the rumours about some students sneaking around in Prince's room?" Ginny asked, looking at us with a knowing look on her face.
"I have not heard anything like that." Ron said in a much too stiff voice. We all laughed at him, which made any tension from before disappear.
After that, we all fell into a nice conversation. Nothing too serious, just a nice casual chat with friends before class starts. A good way to unwind from a stressful week. At that moment, nothing bad or stressful was on my mind. All thoughts on my mind were happy and stress-free. Everything was alright. Almost like a calm before the storm, even though nothing bad was going to happen.
After breakfast we all made our way to class,. We said our goodbyes to Ginny and Luna, then headed off to DADA.
When we arrived we took a seat and found that Prince's friends were already there. All of them seated in their usual spots. Luke and Zac both smiled and waved at us when we can in.
"Good morning you guys!" Luke greeted. "I'm sorry we didn't sit with you today, but we have breakfast in here to catch up with good old Siggy over here." Luke trusted his thumb over his shoulder to point at Prince who was grading papers at his desk.
"I heard that Luke." was the only reply. Luke rolled his eyes, but laughed anyways. He then turned back to his group and jumped straight back into the conversation like he hadn't even left it in the first place.
After a couple minutes of waiting class finally started. Prince went up to the front of the room and summoned a black broad for him to write on.
"Okay, I know we usually do some dueling, but I thought today we could just practice some spells at our desks." Prince announced when he had everyone's attention.
"But haven't we learned all of the spells?" Hermione asked without raising her hand. Prince didn't comment on that fact and went straight to answering her question.
"Yes, but I got special clearance from McGonagall to do these three spells," he answered.
Hermione nodded, like she believed him. I didn't. Why would McGonagall give him special clearance for spells we don't need to know. If we needed to learn them, we would've had them in the textbook.
'Maybe these spells are dangerous.' I thought. 'Or maybe even life threatening! Wait. Those are basically the same thing. Stupid Harry.'
I was snapped back to reality when I realized that Hermione was elbowing me quite harshly.
"What?" I whispered.
"He's starting to teach stuff," Hermione hissed, "Pay attention!"
I rolled my eyes, but started to pay attention.
Prince was talking about what the three spells were about.
"Alrighty, so this first one is basically a shield spell, but everything that touches it gets flung back ten meters. It's very effective, but quite dangerous in confined spaces which is why it's not taught in schools. The second one is an illusion spell, it allows you to make yourself blend into backgrounds or lets you make illusions, it can be very hard to control and saps a lot of your energy which is why they don't teach it in school. The last one is a spell that uses your hatred for your opponents to send strong bolts of lightning at them. Like the illusion spell, it can be hard to control, but on a more serious level which is why they don't teach it in school." Prince explained.
He looked around at us before continuing.
"For these spells, we'll be learning the incantations as well as the wand motions used to do it. We will absolutely not be testing these in class or anytime when directed at classmates. If we find that you're abusing these spells, you will get detention. Or in worse cases, suspension or expulsion."
Prince turned to the board and started teaching.
