After ten minutes of driving, I finally make it to the place, I pull into the parking space. I have been here so many times I can't even count.
I mean it's a nice place, I guess. My thoughts begin to wander off with me as I'm walking inside.
"Kady Lincoln, lovely to see you again." The nurse exclaims, surprised to see me even though I am here once or twice a week. I mutter a "nice to see you too" regardless and make my way to room 375.
*knock, knock, knock*
I slowly creep the door open incase she's asleep, I don't want to disturb her.I see her sat in the corner, concentrating on a jigsaw.
"Mum?"
She looks up and beams from ear to ear "Kassy, my dear. You made it".
Every time, dammit "mum it's Kady".
She seems really calm and collected today. I wonder if that's just her mood or if they have given her something.
I move closer to her and pull up a chair and sit down. The jigsaw is a picture of puppies and kittens, 3000 pieces, by the looks of it she's done around half of it. I remember doing these a lot growing up. She's obsessed with them.
I guess in this place, you need stuff to pass the time, even though the nurses give you things to do to stimulate your mind and body (Zoo's call this enrichment), it must get boring and lonely. My mum tends to stay in her room. She doesn't really have any friends here. People come and go constantly, it must be difficult. She's extremely introverted, like me.Some days they do water aerobics. When did that become a thing? My mum absolutely loves it though.
I sit with my mum for about another hour and a half and we complete the jigsaw. Such a satisfying feeling finishing something you put so much effort into. We sit there talking about random things like the weather or what I want to do with my life."SHOOT..the time. Sorry mum I need to go. I have to go to school"
"Bye, my dear" I kiss her softly on the cheek. Saying goodbye is always the hardest. No one else really visits her. She's been in here for about two years, ever since my grandpa was brutally murdered infront of her "bye mother, I'll see you next week".
I wander off back to my car saying goodbyes to everyone I pass and off to school I pop.
Time: 10am
I have Science. Great, Mrs Wilson. She is so ignorant. I set off to the other side of the school where the Science block is.
I am so out of breath. God, I need to work out more.
Time:10:15
*knock*The door whisks open. It's like she was waiting for me. So weird.
"Miss. Lincoln, so nice for you to grace us with your presence. It's wonderful of you to fit us into your busy schedule" Bitch. "I'm so sorry Mrs. it won't happen again".
I shuffle my way through the door and begin my walk of shame to the back of the class to claim my precious seat.
Then it hits me.
It literally hits me.
A paper aeroplane to the temple. Aeroplane?
What, are we five?. I pick it up regardless. I already know who threw it.
Jace Nash.
Arsehole.
I de-crumple it anyway, because I'm dumb and can't leave it.
'You are a stupid whore, go kill yourself' awh I adore the love notes I get from him.
I look over to him and put my hand on my heart and mouth a very loving 'thank you so much'. He just leans back in his chair and laughs.Throughout the whole lesson I get laughed at. Things thrown at me and told how much I should just die.
Well, that's how Jace Nash treats me.
Every since we was little.
We grew up together.
He actually lives next door to me unfortunately. His bedroom window is directly opposite mine. He hates me that much that out of the 16 spare bedrooms in his parents' mansion he chose the one opposite mine just so he can torture me.He's actually a year older than me and a senior but in some subjects I'm in the seniors class. Because I'm a nerd.
I feel eyes on me. It's him isn't ? Don't look Kady. Do not look.
Yep, it's him.
*bell rings signalling end of lesson*
"LUNCHTIME" an overly enthusiastic guy screams.
Great time to sit on my own. In the bathroom. Like a loser.
Actually, fuck it. I'm going to sit in the cafeteria.
Text to Kassy: Wait for me at the doors please.
Let's do this..
