Jace's POV:
All I could dream about was her, she is always so happy in my dreams. I feel bad for hurting her last night, I just don't want to put her through the shit in my life. It's a lot to deal with. Truthfully, I've never had an actual girlfriend, I always wanted it to be her so I just never got into a relationship. So, I had meaningless flings, it gave me the reputation I hold onto today. I can't have her, but she's all I want. No, fuck that. I need her. Without her I feel numb, she makes me feel alive.
I know, I keep fucking her around. I don't do it on purpose, I just can't resist her. I want to give into the temptation that is Kady Lincoln. I'm scared of hurting her, I've been in love with her for as long as I can remember, I've never admitted that to her though, only to her father. I want to protect her and keep her safe.
I think I've lost her now, I ruined all of my chances and that's saying something because she has given me 17 years worth of chances.
I splash water on my face, Theodore woke me up about 5 minutes ago. The sofa was shit to sleep on, it was comfy, I was just too tall for it so I had to scrunch up. 6"4 guy laying on an at most 6" sofa. It's 7:30am, I get changed into a hoodie and jeans, I can why Kady loves wearing these, I get the appeal, it's extremely comfortable.
I walk into Kady's room to wake her up, she's not a morning person so I have to prepare myself for the onslaught. She looks so peaceful, is it weird to think someone looks so cute asleep? I have the urge to just climb in with her and cuddle up together, but I can't because she deserves better than me. She's way out of league anyway. I gently prod her until she wakes up. She gives me daggers and sighs.
"Why are you in here and how can I help you?" She says with an attitude as she closes her eyes again. See, I was right, she hates mornings.
"You've got 10 minutes to get up and ready. We're going home" as soon as I finish my sentence, her eyes widen but then she glares at me, trying to figure out if I'm playing with her. I tell her I'm being serious and she leaps to her feet on the bed with the biggest smile I have ever seen her do and pounces at me, I grab her mid air by her waist as she hugs me, one arm wrapping around my neck and the other hand gripping onto my head. I'm so happy right now, my smile is probably over dramatic.I struggle to breathe but I don't mind, she smells so nice, she always does. She pulls away after realising what's happening, I plop her back onto the ground, we just stare into each other's eyes, I look down at her lips. Don't do it. I look back into her eyes. She makes me weak.
"Are you going to remove your hands from my waist?" As she finishes her sentence, I quickly move my hands away and apologise. I leave the room, so she can do what she needs to do.Before we know it, we are at the air strip. Walking up to the private jet ready for our 9am flight. Kady hasn't spoken to me since our awkward hug. She won't even look at me. It weighs heavy on me just how much pain I have caused the only person that I actually give a shit about on this Earth. We all get settled in our seats, preparing to embark on this 5 and a half hour flight.
I watch Kady as we take off, I know that she hates planes and heights. I can see her breathing become more rapid, she looks up at me, frantic. I mouth "It will be ok, everything will be ok. I promise" she looks taken aback but I meant every word. She nods and calms down.
Once we're in the air, we drink champagne and eat pizza, celebrating getting through what we did, but honestly I would go to Hell and back for that girl. All I can do for the first part of the flight is watch Kady, occasionally she looks up at me and I try to quickly look away but she knows I'm staring. I never get bored looking at her, she's just so stunning. She falls asleep after around an hour and so do I.
We are woken up when we are about to land, I move over to sit next to Kady as I know she will panic. We put our seatbelts on and begin our descent from the sky. It's a very turbulent landing, Kady grabs my hands and holds onto it for dear life, I squeeze her hand gently and run my thumb along her hand to comfort her until the plane comes to a halt, then she lets go.
We grab what little possessions we have acquired and leave the jet and hop into a black SUV. Kady still doesn't talk to me. It's a very quiet 40 minute drive, she just watches the world whizz by from the window, fixated on her surroundings. She gets travel sick, so she has to look out of a window anyway, it's still cute though.
As we pull onto our street, my heart starts pounding and happiness fills me along with anxiety. A huge weight lifts from my shoulders as I finally feel safe in my surroundings once again after a long time.
We're finally home.
