Is This PDA?

*Trigger Warning*

It feels invigorating to not give a fuck, as we walk through the doors I feel an even more intense glare and look over to find Ellie Alby giving me her best death stare. I give her the fakest smile I can muster and Jace notices what I'm doing and starts pulling me along the corridor.

"Keep it moving angry midget, it's 8am, it's too early to be dishing out ass whoopings" he whispers far too sarcastically into my ear. All I do is laugh and shove him a little. We reach my locker and he leans against them lazily as his friends walk up to him and do that weird guy handshake, back pat thing.

I finish grabbing my stuff as the bell rings, I don't have any classes with Jace until after lunch. I wrap my arms around his waist as he plants a kiss on my head and hugs me back. People stare at us, is this PDA? It's just a hug.

The classes last for what feels like years, but finally it's lunch. I head into the cafeteria alone and queue up for food. It's pizza day, I grab a few slices for me and a few for Jace, I get a drink and some chocolate cake. Everything is mediocre at best but it'll do. I pay and walk over to our table. Jace saved a seat next to him, as he sees me he moves his bag from the chair so I can sit down. I say hi to everyone and plonk myself down, Jace puts his arm across the back of my chair casually as he leans back in his. He's staring at my pizza.

"Chill, I got you three slices. Quit dribbling" I say as I move the tray closer towards him. The smile that erupts from him just because of pizza is bizarrely adorable.

"See, I knew you were a keeper" he stated as he leans in and kisses me. Infront of everyone. I feel my face heat up as I turn red. I don't think I like this whole PDA thing, but it might just be because I'm new to this. I kiss him back and then pull away. My eyes meet Kassy's and she's beaming ear to ear, she gives me the thumbs up while winking, I mouth 'weirdo' at her as I shove some pepperoni pizza into my mouth.

"I used to get you pizza and you never called me a keeper" a whiny high pitched Ellie announces as she begins to throw a hissy fit. Here we go.
"Because you weren't a keeper" Jace unexpectedly casually says next to me without even looking away from his pizza, I can tell that she didn't like that. She stands up very dramatically making sure the chair behind her scrapes loudly against the floor. The noise makes the cafeteria fall silent.
"BUT I'M SO MUCH BETTER THAN HER!" She squeals as loud as she can and storms out. I look over at Jace and we burst out laughing at her performance.

A few minutes pass and the world returns back to normal, Benny is sat across from me and he's struggling with some science worksheet, I lean over the table to read what he is doing, it's to do with the periodic table. I grab the worksheet and fill it out quickly and hand it back, Benny looks at what I've written down.

"Thanks, you're really smart" he exclaims and I shrug it off as the bell rings. Jace and I have science together now, so we walk together as I intertwine our fingers. We sit next to each other and the lesson passes by quickly.

Thankfully, there's only one more class to go before the end of the day. Unfortunately, it's P.E. It's shot-put which I'm horrendous at, so the hour drags on but finally it ends. I don't bother getting changed back into my normal clothes. I grab my stuff and head to the car park, Jace is leaning against his car waiting for me, I reach up and kiss him as he holds my waist. When we get back to my house, he follows me inside and plops down onto my bed as I shower. I change into sweatpants and a hoodie.

Jace moans at me that we're going to be late, it confuses me for a second until I remember about the mandatory meeting. We head to my fathers office and as we walk into the board room, we're met with a crowd filling the room up to the brim, the majority of the gang is here. There's two seats next to my father at the table, as we sit down my father nods at me and then he stands up and flips over a board, it's full of notes and photos of people.

"Right guys, we're here because Kady's safety is in jeopardy again. We've been expecting and anticipating this since we came back" he trails off and points to a picture of a guy. Not just any guy though, it's the guy from Target and underneath is his name.

"This is Thomas Phallen, son of Beatrice Phallen, she is the leader of the Phallen gang. We believe Thomas is seeking revenge for his brother Willis Phallen's death- Kady is the target" he continues but my mind spins with thoughts. Willis is his brother? But I didn't even kill him. How long have they known about Thomas? Why didn't they want to tell me before? I'm so confused.

The meeting lasts for half an hour, I struggle to concentrate throughout, so I don't actually know what is happening. I'm so overwhelmed, when my father calls time on the meeting, I'm one of the first out of the door and I run to my room, closing the door behind me. I feel hot so I try to take my hoodie off, I get my earring stuck so now my head is stuck inside of the hoodie. The door opens.

"Jace, can you help me, my earring is..." I don't get to finish my sentence because I'm shoved onto my bed hard. I don't think that it's Jace as he's never been violent with me like this. My mind stops abruptly when my sweatpants are pulled down, I finally realise what's happening. I start screaming and trying my hardest to get whoever this is off me.

I feel down the side of my bed and grip onto my bat. My hoodie gets ripped from my head and a hand covers my mouth, shoving me further into the bed. As soon as the hoodie moves, my eyes meet with the person who is doing this to me. My heart sinks as I realise who it is.

It's fucking Benny.

Without a second thought, I swing the bat at Benny's head.
