Jace's POV:
She stops running and I turn back to lecture her. But what she does next takes me back. She reaches back and touches her head. She looks at her hand, as do I. It is covered in blood.
She stares at her hand.

"When did that happen? how long has it been bleeding for? Who did that? Are you ok?" I stumble through all of the questions my head can think of.

She stares at me with a blank stare.
She doesn't reply to me.
I don't even think she heard me.

Then, she falls to the ground.
I grab her before she falls to the ground.
She still has a pulse.
She's still breathing.

I do the only thing I can think of doing.
I pick her up and I run.
I run as fast as my legs can take me.

After what seems like miles of running through the woods. Following the tree markings.
I reach the place.
I run down the steps and unlock the door.
I stumble into the underground safe place.
It is only to be used in emergencies but I count this as an emergency. I turn the light on.
I lay her down on her side in the recovery position on the table in the centre of the first room. I put a blanket over her.

I didn't want to lay her on her back because of her head..
I grab the first aid kit.
I check her pulse again.

I slip on some gloves and I assess the wound.

Ok, it's not deep.
I hold a towel to her head and apply pressure.
I have to try to stop the bleeding.
With one hand on the towel.
I use the other to grab my phone.
I find the name and I press 'call'
It rings a few times and then they answer.

"It's Kady, she has a head injury. She's unconscious. I've brought her to the Morple bunker. It was the closest place to the party. The Phallen gang showed up, they killed a bunch of people, they came looking for Kady and Kassy, Kassy got away safely but they got Kady, I killed both of the guys that went after her. You need to get here. I'm so sorry Theodore" I splatter out in a panic.
He hangs up.

I carry on tending to Kady.
Checking her pulse and her breathing.

The door swings open and in walks her father, with paramedics coming in behind him.
They take over from me.
I sit down and watch them.

Theodore watches too. He never says anything. He just holds her hand.

Kady, you need to stop getting yourself into trouble.

It dawns on me that I've killed two people tonight. I've killed people before. A lot. But it never gets easier. I still get night terrors about them but it's a part of my job.

I watch as they take her away and put her in an ambulance. Theodore joins her.
The doors close and I watch as they drive away.

I tidy the bunker and then lock it up.

Do I go home or do I go to the hospital?

I decide to go home to shower.
I clean myself up. I throw away the clothes. I check on Parker, Kassy is there. I fill her in and she cries.
I jump into my car and I drive to the hospital.

"Hi, do you know which room Kady Lincoln is in please?" I say calmly to the receptionist.

She tells me the room and hands me a map to the ward.
It takes around 15 minutes to sprint there.
But I finally make it.
I walk into the room.
I see her, asleep. Tubes and wires surrounding her. Machines beeping.
Theodore is sat next to her holding her hand, his eyes are trained on her.

"Is she okay?" I ask.
He looks up, as if he has only just noticed that someone has walked in.

"There's no damage to the brain or the skull. She will make a full recovery" he says as he stands up and walks over to me. He holds out his hand to shake my hand "thank you, for looking out for her. Even though I had told you to leave her alone" he says firmly.
Thing is, I just can't leave Kady Lincoln alone. I'm drawn to her. Unlike anything I have ever experienced. It scares me. I try to push her away but I'm just drawn to her.
I could never tell him that though.
I could never tell him that she is the reason I was at that party.
I could never tell him that I'm in love with his daughter.

We sit next to her for hours.
Theodore decides to head home to get some sleep. I stay.

I end up falling asleep in the chair next to her bed, with my head resting on the bed, holding her hand.
