Jace's POV:
"She's been missing for five days now. Five fucking days Sir. Why aren't you out there searching for her?" I scream.
Selfish bastard.
That's your daughter.I thought there would at least be a hint as to where she is.
No.
There's nothing.
I've put a gun to about 50 peoples' heads. No one knows anything.
How can no one know?
I've been searching day and night.
I haven't slept.
I keep sending more people out there to search for her.
Kady, where are you?Her father has not left the house. He has just stayed in his office the whole time. He's done absolutely nothing.
"I have sent a team to investigate the rural small gangs, to see if they have any information" I sigh in defeat. He thinks that's helping?
He doesn't even make eye contact with me."Do you think we'll ever get her back?" I ask honestly.
"I hope so, although truth be told a lot of kidnappings like this end up bad" he replies. He looks sad. He looks like he's given up hope. Already.
It's been five days and he's already lost hope.
I stand up.
"I will do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes. I'll get her back" then something dawns on me.
"I love your daughter" I admit to Theodore Lincoln. My boss. I stare at him dead in the eyes and he stares back. It's an understanding stare.
"I know you do, I do too" then something changes in him, like a switch has gone off. He stands up "let's go find her" he says.We make our way to the Phallen gangs hideout.
Theo set out a plan just before we left with plenty of our gang members and weapons in tow.
This is the only place I haven't searched. She has to be here.
I can feel it as we pull up.
I feel different about this spot, it's a wrecked old three story building.
We storm the building.
A guy comes at me with a knife.
Who the fuck brings a knife to a gun fight? Idiot.
I shoot him. Easy target.
There's around 15 people that we take out within ten minutes easily.
We keep a few alive to question for information of course.
I let the guy give them a mini interrogation. All we get is a bunch of 'I don't knows' but then one guy cracks and confirms they have her by announces "you'll never find her!"
We're not evil people, we let them go, with a beating. Then we hear it.
We hear her.
She screams.
It's muffled and is coming from a lower level of the building meaning she is in a basement.
We shout for her and she shouts back as we follow her voice to reach her quicker.
We end up in a big old hall and her screams are below us, we start tearing up the floorboards. They come away easily because they're so old, then Theo moves a rug and finds a hatch.
We open it and met with a dark staircase. She shouts and it confirms she's down there. I'm moving before I even register it. Theo follows me. Two big men come around the corner and try shooting us but their guns jammed.
So we shoot them. She shrieks as she witnesses the shootings but it turns to relief. We haven't stopped to take in what's around us. There hasn't been time. But, what I can take in is the smell.
It smells awful, like death, rotting. We move forward and then I see her.
I see my beautiful Kady.
