I can't even begin to explain what happened an hour ago. One minute, we were all standing in the kitchen, toasting to my sister's engagement and pregnancy, the next minute...bullets started flying all over the place. All I remember was seeing Dean get Talia and Bella out of harms way, while I yelled for Syd and Jackie to take Ivy and follow them into the laundry room. It wasn't until Jackie fell against me and I had to catch her before her body hit the ground. I thought that she had just fainted or some shit, but I knew better. She was shot and I didn't even know where because I was too focused on pulling my gun out and going outside to shoot the muthafuckas that were shooting at us.
Zell had his gun in his hand, handing his son to Jude's girlfriend, and pushing them towards the laundry room; telling them not to come out until we all got back. Then, me, Jude, Dean, and Zell headed outside and it was a shooting war from that point on. It wasn't until both Dean and Zell got shot, when then black SUV quickly pulled off and fled down the streets. After that...everything else was a complete blur.

I paced back and forth in the hospital waiting room, waiting on the doctor's to come out and let me know how Jackie was doing. Talia was crying and holding Bella close to her, while Syd rocked Ivy in her arms, and Jude and his girlfriend were taking care of Zell's son.
"Tevin..." I heard Syd say.
"Not now, Syd." I said, shaking my head. I couldn't even think about anything else. I just wanted to make sure that Jackie was okay.
"She's going to be okay."
"How do you know?"
"I don't. I wish I did, but I don't. We can only hope and pray that she makes it through and recovers quickly." She spoke softly, rubbing her hand up and down my back. I turned around and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tight.
"Thank you for being here with me." I murmured.
"Where else would I be?"
"I honestly thought that you'd be upset with me for not hitting you back after the talk we had. The truth is..." I began, but she cut me off.
"We don't have to talk about that right now." She said.
"I want to though. You deserve an explanation and I need something to take my mind off of all this for a minute." I grabbed Ivy from her and kissed her forehead, holding her close to me. "A few days before you called me up and we talked, Jackie and I were talking and she confessed her love for me. I didn't think that you and I were getting back together and I considered giving her a chance, but after we talked...I didn't know what I wanted or who I wanted."
"You fell in love with her?"
"I mean...I wouldn't say that I fell in love with her, but my feelings for her did grow. We spent a lot of time together and she became one of my closet friends, giving me advice when I needed it, and vice versa." I could see the tears forming in her eyes, as I quickly looked away from. I know this was hurting her, hearing me talk about another woman, especially finding out that I loved someone else.
"I'd rather you be with her." She blurted out, making me glance at her.
"Say what?" I questioned.
"As much as this hurts me to say...I think that you two deserve a shot at being in a relationship. Plus, I think it'll be good for Ivy to see her parents together." She rubbed Ivy's back and smiled a little, looking up at me. "I just want you to be happy. You deserve true love and happiness."
"Yeah you right. I do deserve all that and if we're being honest...I want all that with you." I told her. She looked up at me and furrowed her eyebrows.
"You do?" She questioned.
"Yeah, I really do. Syd...we've been through a lot over the years and though I fucked up every time, we've always found a way back to each other. Granted that this time took longer then we both thought it would...you're the one I want to be with. You're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I love you, Sydney." A smile came across her lips as she grabbed my face and kissed me.
"I love you too, you pain in the ass!" She cried, wiping her eyes. I chuckled and wrapped my arm around her, hugging her tight. I had given this decision a lot of thought and as much as I love Jackie and would love to see where our relationship would go...my heart has always belonged to Syd and I couldn't imagine my life without her.
