Three Years Later...
I was sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting on New New to come out of the bathroom, since she woke my ass up early this morning to announce that she had missed her damn period. Though I wanted kids someday, I damn for sure didn't want them at the moment. Hell, all they do is cry, eat, sleep, and get into shit. I'm not ready for all that.
"Baby?" I called out.
"What Jude?" She said.
"You want me to go get you a plan B?"
"Seriously? It won't be effective, depending on how far along I am." She came out of the bathroom, with the test in her hand, slowly sitting it down on the dresser. She looked scared, which I didn't blame her, because I'd be scared too if I thought I was having a crazy person's baby. "You know I love you right?"
"Aw shit, here it comes." I grumbled. "Yeah I know. I love you too, but that don't mean we gotta break up over this shit."
"Break up? What are you talking about?"
"That's how most girls start off a break up, unless they're lame and say something dumb like...it's not you, it's me."
"Jude...shut up. I am not breaking up with you. I just don't want you to think that I wouldn't have your baby, because I would, but I'm just not ready yet. Maybe in another two to three years, but until then...I like it being just us." She said, smiling a little. I did a dramatic sigh of relieve, wiping the invisible sweat from my forehead, as I laid back on the bed.
"We are in the same boat baby. I can't even deal with a little crumb snatcher right now, but if you are pregnant...I guess we gon suck it up and deal with it. You never know...we might like being parents." What the fuck was I saying? Parenthood is NOT for everyone.
