It was a big night; Kieran had turned eighteen so in the evening there would be a huge celebration and everybody would be there to see him being crowned alpha.

The three young wolves were on their way home after a tricky day at school. Since their incident, everyone seemed to hate Ashley and Mia even more. However, they still adored Danny in all of his godly glory, and the digs were still being made by the girls who thought they could test Mia's limits. Bad idea; it ended in a fight and a scold in the Alpha's office every time!

As Ashley and Danny talked over the preparations for the night, Mia stalked behind them rolling her eyes and slowly - sneakily- took Danny's school bag from his shoulder and ran ahead.

Ashley laughed but Danny who had seemed to had matured overnight into an even more angry-obnoxious-but-only-to-Mia kind of boy, shouted ahead, "Mia bring it back!" He was still his usual self with Ashley, but when was he never?

"Come and get it," she taunted, holding it above her head less than a mile ago. He gave an exasperated sigh and turned to Ashley for help. She shrugged and laughed.

The snow girl was still annoyed that he wasn't making a smidgen of effort to be friendly to her best girl friend.

They could see in the distance that Mia was still playing the joke, getting ready to throw his bag up into the trees. "Mia I swear to the moon goddess-" Ashley for some reason shivered at the mention of their god. "That if you throw it I will kick you out the pack," he continued. Mia was so used to his daily threats that she swung it up towards the sky...

...and then it stopped as the strap ran out, like a coiled spring or popped up and then fell into its original state, hanging on the side of a grinning Mia.

Ashley laughed but Danny stopped her in her tracks. With a murderous look in his eyes, "MIA GIVE IT BACK!!!" he growled.

The snow girl gave her a look and put both her hands on Danny's chest and said, "calm down."

"Mia, bring the bag back," Ashley kindly ordered and like a spoilt child, Mia dragged it along the floor until she got to them.

She held it out, dangling it in front of Danny's face. As he reached up to grab it, she ripped it away faster than he was expecting. The fire boy narrowed his eyes, then growled a deep rumbling noise from his throat.

Although she didn't show it, Mia was intimidated by the future alpha to be. She grudgingly smirked and threw the back pack at him before skipping off into a different direction; to get to her house. "See you guys later!" she sang.

The pair stood in silence. Danny was staring remorsefully at the space Mia had disappeared into. The snow girl was looking at him, pursing her lips.

"I'm trying," he told her through gritted teeth.

Ashley sighed and picked up his bag from the floor. "I know," Danny still didnt look her in the eye as he took back his bag and continued to walk.

"You would think that I was putting the two of you in hell, the way you react together," said Ashley lightheartedly. "Whatever," muttered Danny.

Rolling her eyes behind his back, Ashley bit back, "I'm sorry! who knew it would be so hard to get along with someone. God forbid, my friend!"

Danny stopped and turned on his heel causing Ashley to walk straight into the back of him. "You know that I am being as resiliant as I can be for this girl! She is the one with no respect!"

"Thats rubbish!" Ashley accused, "you hate her! you always have. From the minute she came and just because she was a rogue!" She stopped to take a breath. "But guess what, I was a rogue too!" she yelled.
