Ashley got as far from him as she could! She didn't take her eyes off him as she backed up into one of the rogues.
Letting out a small yelp as he grabbed her by the arms, she snarled and struggled in his grip.
The man neared her, his signature smile plastered across his face. A sick, twisted crook of a smile.
"Stay away from me!" the snow girl warned, cowering into the man behind her. Narrowing his eyes at her, the tall figure loomed over her. "You've completed your business here, leave now!" he ordered the rogues.
Ashley saw her dad, eye his companions in a way that wreaked power. It occurred to Ashley that she should be that powerful to gain respect in the pack.
As they began to retreat and disappear into the trees, Ashley shot her dad a pleading glare- he may be an unforgiving man but anything was better than this devil- he narrowed his and momentarily thought whether it was the right thing to do. This man had come into their lives before, when Ashley was nothing but a cub. Out of that, his mate died. Was it Ashley's fault or his? A father should never let a stranger into the home of a young child! Especially as a wolf.
He shook his heads free of the thoughts when the devil himself growled and stared at him with blackening beady eyes.
With that, he stepped into oblivion.
The snow girl found herself yelling in her mind, 'come back, please! Come back!' she screamed- he never did.
Turning back around, he set his eyes on Ashley. Taking a threatening step forward and she, a shaky bound back. He chased her through the forest. Only when her back hit a tree did they stop.
He was already sniffing her mark with distaste. To say that she was terrified would be an understatement; she could feel her fingers twitching with electricity, she pushed herself as much as she could into the tree but whatever space she managed to put between them, he closed it in no time.
The snow girl begged her wolf to come out but she was already under his command. He smelt of power, it radiated from him like steam off the iced pond in winter.
Her mind was slowly reducing to small memories. She tried to hold onto her thoughts, Andrea, Mark, Alpha, Kieran, Danny. They were slipping like butter through her fingers, salt through a sieve. Until she was left with nothing; childhood memories were all that remained. She saw her mother, her cruel fate as the ice froze her heart; stopped it beating. She watched her die again.
"Do you remember my name sweetheart?" he said in a sickly sweet voice, one that did not suit him.
Ashley couldn't reply, couldn't move, she just breathed. Her eyes were wide and her hands rigid by her sides as his fingers glided over the skin there.
"Ashley?" he breathed into her ear. She cringed and he tugged at a piece of her hair.
When she didn't reply, he growled. He stepped away much to her relief and walked off into the distance. Ashley could still see him but he had his back to her and she wondered, as her sense drifted back, could she run?
As if he could hear her thoughts - which was probably the case- she did after all bear his mark. "Don't even think it!" he snarled close to her ear, able to get there in under a second. She would have had no chance.
He stepped up to her again. She tried to get back to the tree but he held her there, holding her forearms.
She closed her eyes quickly. 'Danny! Danny! Danny! Remember!' she instructed herself. She swore she felt him tighten his grip.
Then the man did something unexpected; he brought her hands up to his chest, she could feel a burning sensation flare along her right hand. Her eyes flicked open, she tried to snatch it away but he held it in place.
