Finn was in his trailer, waiting for his next scenes to shoot. He was trying to kill some time scrolling down through Instagram, finally deciding on looking at some Insta Stories.

Boring. Boring. Boring.

Nothing caught his attention so far, as he was tapping fast through accounts, over and over.

The decision...

Wait.

What?

He tapped on the left to come back to previous Insta Story.

The decision with Jacob and I was completely mutual. We are both happy and remaining friends

His heart did a weird leap. They broke up. It wasn't a gossip or an assumption made by fans.

It was real and confirmed.

He didn't even have a chance to think about it for a little longer, because the door opened and someone got into the trailer.

Speak of the devil.

'Hi.' Millie said, looking at him for a brief moment and averting her eyes one second later.

He stood up from the couch, taking one cautious step towards her.

'Hi.' he hesitated a little, not really knowing what to say. 'Umm... Wanna hug?' he offered finally, catching her off guard. Her mouth opened in surprise. She quickly gathered herself together.

'So... Umm... You saw it.' she said quietly after a couple of seconds, fiddling with the hem of her T-shirt.

'Yeah. I did.' he said. 'So? What about that hug? Or you despise all men?' he joked a little, hoping for lightening the mood.

She shrugged in response, looking down at the floor.

'Oh come on, what could be better than a big hug from your bony friend?' he asked, outstretching his arms widely.

She looked up at him with a broken smile.

And before Finn could process what was going on, she ran up to him fast and collapsed into his arms. This was so sudden that made him stumble a little bit. He held her tightly though, wrapping his arms around her. They stood like that for a while. She was pressed to his chest as he was planting light kisses to the top of her head. Without a word he took a little step back and sat down on the couch, not releasing her from his arms even for a second. She sat down next to him, her whole body pressed to his side. She wrapped her arm across his stomach and hid her face into his chest.

She wasn't crying. No. There were no tears left here. She was disappointed. And just really, really sad.

She believed in someone for so long and it turned out that he wasn't worth even a second of her time.

'How are you holding up?' Finn asked.

'I'm fine.' she said quietly.

'Are you sure?'

'Yes.' she confirmed.

'You know that I'm... I'm always here if you need me, right?' he asked, pressing his lips to her temple.

She nodded in response.

'Thank you, Finn.' she said, burying herself more into his arms.

A couple of minutes have passed. They were just sitting like that, cuddled. The painful spot in her chest eased a bit. The truth is, Finn was the only person who has always been able to make her feel better. It has always been like this, since the very beginning. She found peace with his chest rising and falling against her face. She didn't need anything else now.

He was the first to break the silence.

'If he let himself to lose someone like you, then he is stupid.' he said.

She shook her head against his chest.

'Stop joking.'

'I...' he hesitated.

It wasn't supposed to be a joke. What did Jacob do to her that she isn't even able to accept a compliment? He was mad, but... That was not the time. He just wanted to make her feel better. To make her smile.

He took her hand into his and intertwined their fingers.

'I'm not joking. You are beautiful, funny, talented and smart. And I can keep listing your advantages, but I don't know if we have that much time.'

She shifted a little and leaned back, meeting his gaze. And she didn't dare to look away, seeing his eyes filled with so much warmth.

'You are loved by your family, by your friends and by your fans. You are loved by so many people, you know that, right? And I'm one of those people, Mills. I love you. Because... you deserve to be loved. Never doubt it, okay?' he continued. 'And... One day you will be with someone who won't be able to believe how lucky he is. And he will be aware of the fact that he has the most wonderful girl in his arms. And he will be smart enough to know that he should never let her go.'

She was just looking up at him with ridiculously big smile, her chest warming dangerously at his words.

'Thank you. For... For everything.' she said quietly, burying her face into his chest again. 'I love you, too, Finn.' she added after a pause, hugging him tighter. He pressed his lips to her forehead in response, making her eyes fluttering shut.

'Is there something I can do?' he asked, rubbing soft circles on her back.

'Just... Stay?' her voice was quieter than a whisper.

He pulled her into him there was no way she could be any closer.

'I'm not going anywhere.'
