'Finn! I've been looking for you everywhere!' Noah said, breathing heavily, running up to him.
Finn was getting out of Caleb's trailer, when he noticed his friend.
'Why? What happened?' Finn asked.
'Jacob.' Noah said simply.
Finn didn't need more information.
'What?! Again?'
'Yeah.' he said bitterly.
'Where is she?' Finn asked.
'In your trailer.'
It wasn't the first time when he would have to comfort her because of Jacob. He was used to it, as bad as it sounds. He didn't know what Jacob did to her this time.
One thing he knew for sure that he was the only person she needs right now.
Finn walked away quickly without a word. He walked up to their trailer, opened the door and got inside.
She looked up at him briefly.
She wasn't crying anymore. But she couldn't hide from him that she cried earlier, her wet cheeks and puffy eyes telling the truth.
He walked up to her and sat down beside her on the couch.
'Come here.' he said, pulling her closer to him. He didn't even have to say anything else. His presence was enough. He comforted her so many times that he practically read her mind. He didn't even have to ask what's wrong or what he could do for her.
He just knew.
She hugged him like she did so many times before, her face against his chest. A couple of minutes have passed. They were just laying like that, their bodies pressed closely together. He was soothingly rubbing circles on her back as she played absentmindedly with his fingers.
'Do you want to talk?' he asked, breaking the silence.
She shook her head.
'Sometimes it's better when you just-'
'I don't want to talk about it, okay?' she said, a little bit too harsh than she intended. 'I'm sorry.' she said quietly after a couple of seconds.
He nodded in response. He tried to be understanding friend and he really tried to stay calm, but just thinking about Jacob made his blood boil. He hated to see her hurt.
'I don't understand why you keep doing this.' he said after a while, not being able to stop those words from exiting his lips.
'Doing what.' she asked, her voice emotionless.
'Forgiving him.' he said simply. He just couldn't understand this.
'Everybody deserves a second chance.' she said quietly.
'I don't think so.'
She didn't say anything this time. She really didn't want to talk about it.
'You know I'm right. I can't understand why you're doing this to yourself. He makes you unhappy, Mills.' he continued, pressing his lips to her forehead.
This tender act made her eyes to well with tears again.
Jacob didn't act this way. He wasn't that caring, loving boyfriend she thought he would be. She pressed her lips together to prevent tears from falling.
He shifted a little when he heard her sniffling.
'Millie-'
'Just don't say "I told you so".' she cut him off bitterly.
