city of love?

-:-:-:-

On august 13th we arrive in Paris in the afternoon. I'll be playing on a festival tomorrow night at eleven, and we have until the 17th here so I guess sightseeing and just being in the city is what we're going to do for the next few days. After my last tour, Paris has been one of my favourite places to visit, mainly because of the nice people here. The crowd here was the loudest and the fans here did everything in their power to see me like everywhere else in the world, but the difference is that this city is one that I find myself falling in love with.

When you're on tour you usually go to many of the world's most famous cities, but you never or rarely have time to see the biggest sights nor much else for that matter. On tour I was so ready to see the world and spent all the spare time exploring for the first two months last time. It wore me out to the point where I nearly fell asleep at rehearsals and I understood that it wouldn't work no matter how much I wanted it to work. Last time in Paris, I was able to visit the Eiffel Tower, and this time I'm looking forward to seeing the city in more than a day. That is something I love about this festival tour, extra time in the cities. Luckily, I managed to push the management to give me a few extra days on tour this and next year, where I can have a day off in some cities as long as I do an interview or two some places.

As soon as we arrive at the hotel we are met by a few fans and the most wonderful hotel staff ever. We're staying in a quite good and expensive hotel and I see why. As soon as I step inside I feel like I've been taken back to the late 1900-century. The grand hall is big, and the ceiling is white with gold decorations and other white decorations. It's all just beautiful. I hope the rooms have this style too.

While Nick goes to the reception to check in the crew, I stand still taking in every angle of the enormous room. The mint-green walls are beautifully embraced by gold roses and leaves, and the sofas are made to copy old sofas, like those that are good looking but the worst to sit in. The floor is of wood and not carpet and it completes the aesthetic look wonderfully. If it weren't for my music career I'd probably study music or architecture at a university or college, and the Parisian architecture is only one of the reasons why I feel so drawn to the city.

Nick soon returns with our key cards and we all head up together after getting our rooms on the fifth floor. Our floor is in no way less beautiful than the lobby, and I feel myself growing more and more excited about the look of my own room. When we reach mid-corridor, I find the door with my room number printed on it. I press the card to the lock and open the door. As I get a view of the room before me I am taken aback by its beauty.

It is big with a high roof and the same type of ceiling that was downstairs. There is a big bed which match the old style, and the white bedside tables are some of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. There is a sofa group and a table which all match the style of the room perfectly. As I put my bag down by the bed I see a new space in the room. Another sofa group facing the big windows. I can see myself living good here for the next days. I guess my room is bigger than the others because Nick told me that it will be our meeting point, and our place to be of we want to hang out. I walk over to the bathroom and see that it matches the style perfectly. I wonder how old this-

"Hey, we're going downstairs for some food. You want to tag along?" I turn around to see Jas, Nick and Ted – my photographer – standing in the middle of my hotel room.

"No thanks. I ate on the plane and really want to go out to explore. Is Magnus coming with you or do you think he could come with me?" I ask the trio and Nick raises his shoulders in a manoeuvre that gestures to him not knowing. "I guess I'll just go find him then. What room?"
