It's so interesting to watch Castiel try to figure out everything. It's as if an alien has come to Earth for the first time and just doesn't know what the hell anything means. Right now, he's watching Sam do research on his laptop.
"How does that contraption give you information?" Cas asks Sam.
"It's connected to the Internet, which is basically this huge virtual database where information is stored," Sam tries to explain.
"Is it like the world's library?" Cas asks.
"Yeah, sort of. The only difference is that anybody can put information in, and that it's much more complicated than a library," Sam tells Cas.
Cas tilts his head slightly in confusion. "So anybody can use this virtual database?"
"Yep," I answer the question before Sam can. "I can show you how to use it someday, if you want."
"Thank you," Cas nods.
Then, Dean comes in to the hotel room. We are currently in London, Kentucky, hunting a wraith. Dean is holding a folder of some sort, and it looks like it came from a morgue.
I ask, "Did you find anything?"
"Yeah. Another victim was found yesterday. It was a girl in her mid-twenties. This is the coroner's report," Dean says, tossing me the folder. I open it, and begin to scan the medical documents.
"It says here that she was blind due to a childhood accident that caused part of her brain to be surgically removed. This doesn't make sense; if it was a wraith, why would it be preying on victims with smaller brains?" I ask, confused.
"That's the point. After looking through the files, I noticed that none of the victims fit normal standards for a wraith's meal. And here is the other interesting part - the girl at the morgue today, her brain was still intact, except for the puncture wound leading from her neck to her brain stem," Dean explains further.
Sam then asks, "So, is this not a wraith? I mean, what else could it be?"
Dean then replies, "Maybe it really is just some sort of psycho who goes around killing young women."
"I hate to say it, but I'm with Dean on this one. The evidence seems to fit, and there were no signs of it being a monster or any sort of supernatural creature," I shrug.
"So this was for nothing?" Sam rubs his forehead.
"Precisely," Cas jumps in.
"Alright. So, what do we do now?" Sam sighs.
"I, for one, think we should all take a break for about a day or two. Catch up on sleep and just go with the flow for once," I suggest.
"I agree. You and Sam rarely ever get sleep," Cas declares.
"Neither does Lucy. What, do you think we don't hear her stay awake all the time?" Sam counters.
"Wanna know why I don't sleep? It's because I can't. Every time I fall asleep, I see some sort of horrible nightmare or a vision or something like that. Ever since I came back from Lucifer's Pit, I haven't been able to sleep much at all!" I yell.
"Wait, you have visions?" Sam seems intrigued.
"Yes. I know you do too, but yours happen during the day and they usually don't prevent you from sleeping at night," I sigh.
"Yeah? You try foreseeing the deaths of people you love and strangers who you can't help but want to save," Sam grits his teeth as he gets out of his chair.
"You have no idea, Haley Joel," I step forward, feeling my face get hot.
"Calm down, both of you," Castiel says, stepping in between Sam and I.
