"You cannot stay away from your family forever," Hannah tells me.
"If it means protecting them, then yes, I can," I reply.
"Castiel told me about everything that Lucifer is doing to you. I can assure you that I am capable of protecting you," Hannah says, "With the help of Castiel, I could protect you and your family."
"Hannah, Lucifer is stronger than all of us. Cas is weak because he is losing his grace; he can't help you. I'm sorry," I tell her shortly.
Hannah then continues, "I believe that I can salvage some spare grace for Castiel. I would have to break into one of the Houses of God, but I could do it."
"Why not just kill Gabriel? I don't want you dead, and besides, Gabriel really pissed Dean and I off the other day," I reply.
"If I killed him, I would be locked out of Heaven," Hannah explains, "However, if you killed him..."
"That's what I need to do. Hannah, can you take me to him?" I ask, "I just want Cas to have his grace back."
"You need to rest first, and think about it. I am not exactly sure of the penalty for killing an angel, but in Gabriel's case, your cause for killing might be seen as rational. He put your life in danger, and no angel should do that," Hannah tells me.
"Okay, fine. I'm going to need your angel blade, though, when we get there," I say.
"Agreed," Hannah nods.
The following morning, I am ready to kill Gabriel. I don't know where this newfound sense of the need for revenge came from, but I'll need it in order to feel justified when killing an angel, even if it is Gabriel.
Hannah allows me to have her angel blade, and I grip it tight as she takes my hand. We are teleported to Gabriel's dwelling, and he is sitting on a couch in front of us, messing with some dominoes.
"Hey, Lucy! How have you been doing?" Gabriel asks, not looking up from the dominoes.
"I've been better," I reply bluntly.
"And what about Hannah?" Gabriel asks, still focused on the dominoes.
"I am doing well," she replies formally. She is such an angel.
"Remember how you sent Dean and I to that hell that you called a 'joke'? Well, I have a 'joke' for you, Gabriel," I say, rushing over to him and stabbing him in the heart. However, the angel blade in my hand goes through nothing but air. I should have known...I almost forgot that Gabriel is also a Trickster.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk...and we were getting along so well," Gabriel taunts from the corner of the room. Ten more Gabriels fill the room, and now I have the task of figuring out which one is actually him.
"Oh, come on. Why not make it a fair fight?" I ask.
"Fairness is not in the Trickster playbook," Gabriel replies.
"Fine. If you want to play it that way, then here's how we'll play," I smile, pinning all of the Gabriels to the walls. They all start saying nonsense in protest.
I start going around the line of decoys, saying, "Is this you?" before I stab them. After the seventh one, Gabriel says, "Okay! You got me! Stop! What do you want?"
I lean in really close to his face and say, "Castiel needs grace, and you have plenty, somehow, and I plan on taking that from you, just as you nearly took my life from me," I smirk as I drive the angel blade into his stomach.
He says "Why?" as he dies. Hannah collects his grace in a small jar-like container, and then she transports me back to the bunker.
"I shall deliver this to Castiel. You have my word," Hannah promises.
"Go ahead and do it now. I'll be fine on my own for a few minutes," I reassure her.
"I should be back in less than five minutes; I will tell Castiel that this is from you," Hannah smiles. Then, with a flutter of wings, she's gone.
Once I'm alone, I take in a deep breath and let it out,
Cas is going to be okay.
DEAN POV
"Look at what she wrote. It says, 'Cas, Dean, and Sam: I know that Lucifer is coming for me. Not wanting you guys to get caught in the crossfire, I'm leaving. If Castiel actually followed my instructions, I'm either dead or I'm now Lucifer's bitch. I just want to remind you that I'm still your family, and while I have a clear mind, I wanted to say thanks for putting up with me and protecting me all this time. You guys mean the world to me, and you can't let some sour-ass fallen angel ruin your fun. Lucifer doesn't matter. You guys matter, and you matter to each other. I love all of you.'" I read Lucy's journal aloud. Cas and Sam have a look of pure shock on their faces.
"Where's Lucy?" Sam asks Cas.
He takes a deep breath, and begins, "I sent her to a bunker in-"
"Castiel," Hannah, the angel, interrupts.
"Hannah," Cas says, confused, "Why are you here? You are supposed to be guarding Lucy."
"She's okay, and she got this for you," Hannah says, handing Cas a small jar full of sparkly stuff.
"Is this-?"
"Grace. For you."
"Shield your eyes!" Cas yells, breaking the jar on the floor. I cover my eyes, but I can still see a burning bright light, then, it is gone after a moment.
"Cas?" I ask.
"My grace is now restored!" he celebrates. Then, he turns back to Hannah, asking, "How did Lucy get it?"
With no expression, Hannah replies honestly, "She killed Gabriel to get that for you."
"Killed him? Was it because of the alternate reality that he placed her and Dean into?" Cas asks, trying to make sense of it. Even I, with how much I detest Gabriel, am stunned by this.
"Yes, it was, and she also wanted to get you the grace you needed," Hannah explains.
"We need you to bring Lucy back. It's very important," I tell Hannah.
"I will go get her," Cas volunteers. I nod, and then he's gone.
In an instant, he is back.
"Where's Lucy?" I ask.
"She's been taken!" Cas screams, "Lucifer has her!"
