Later that night, when Sam and Dean have left for a supply run, Cas walks into my room with Hannah.
"She will take you to an abandoned underground bunker in Kentucky. Are you sure that you don't want me to accompany you?" Cas asks.
"Yes, I'm sure. I'm gonna miss you," I say, smiling sadly. This may be the last time I see him. "Tell the boys I love them, okay?"
"I promise I will," Cas nods.
"Don't get into any trouble. It will only be a little while; I promise," I say, deciding to pull Cas into a hug.
After I let go, Hannah asks, "Are you ready?"
I nod in agreement, and she takes my hand. "Bye," I whisper, and then Hannah and I are gone.
DEAN POV
"Sam, where did you put my silver knife?" I ask, not finding it in the trunk of the Impala.
"I gave it back to Lucy. Don't you remember it was hers?" Sam responds.
"I guess I forgot. In that case, do you know where an extra one is?"
"Here, just take mine." Sam tosses me his knife, and I catch it with no difficulty, mostly because I've done it a million times, but I still like to rub it in Sam's face because he has to really concentrate when he catches something.
Shutting the trunk, now filled with enough rock salt, holy water, and spray paint to last us for a few weeks, Sam and I get in the car and go back to the house. Since Sam and I will probably need help unloading this stuff from the car, I get out my phone and call Cas.
"Hello?" he asks.
"Hey Cas. We're heading back and we need you to tell Lucy to help us unload the trunk," I tell him.
"Um..." Cas says, sounding a bit confused.
"What?" I ask.
"I'll tell you when you get here," Cas replies, hanging up. I snap the phone closed.
"What?" Sam asks me.
"Something's not right," I answer, stepping on the gas pedal.
When we get back to the house, I see nobody by the windows or in the doorway. With Sam trailing behind me, I enter the house. Cas is standing in the study, right next to a sloppy pile of books.
"Where's Lucy?" I demand.
"She's gone," Cas replies.
"Dammit Cas! Where did she go?"
"Listen to me. What's important is that she is safe, and I have made sure of that."
"If you know where she is, you need to tell me."
"I made a promise to her!"
"I made promises to her, too!"
"I just can't tell you, and I won't."
"So you just let her go off by herself, is that it?"
"I didn't."
"Well then who is she with?"
"She is with another angel, named Hannah."
"Lucifer is hunting her down, he is in her head, he is manipulating her, and you put her under the protection of one angel? She's pretty much still a kid! Cas, you have to get her back," I say, lowering my voice. "You have to get her back. None of us are going to lose her again."
I then leave the room, and I find a leather-bound journal sitting on the kitchen table. I know it's Lucy's, so why would she leave it here? Did she give it to Cas?
Flipping through the pages, I see where both she and Cas have written in it. I come to a blank page, and I start to close it, but then the page falls, and I see more writing behind it.
The more I read it, the more shocked I become.
"Sam! Cas!"
"What happened?" Sam asks as he and Cas come in the room.
"Look," I say, holding up the book for them to see, "Cas, you have to tell us everything."
