Gangnam, South Korea

It's 8pm, Jaehyun and I are in the library working on our chemistry project. I'm alone for the time being as he left to get a few snacks and drinks.
I'm really tired and sleepy. I need to get my dose of caffeine. A yawn escaped my mouth before I knew it and I hear shuffling noises behind me. I turn around only to find an empty space. I thought that it must be Jaehyun playing pranks on me so I shouted, "Yah! Jaehyun! Stop playing and come here! I wanna get this done and go home already!"
Silence.
"I swear this isn't funny! Stop it!" I stood up and headed towards rhe source of the noise. I scan through the rows of bookshelves and find no one. I feel shivers run up my spine and I'm starting to tremble.
Then I notice a shadow pass by on my right. "Jaehyun?" I call out softly. I walk towards the shadow and suddenly, I feel a throbbing pain at the back of my head. I fell on my knees and I grunted out of pain. My vision was getting blurry and I felt dizzy. My breathing got heavier by the second and I knew that I was gonna pass out in less than a minute so with my last remaining energy, I shouted for his name and then darkness engulfed me into a deep slumber.

Jaehyun
I told Chaeyoung that I was getting some snacks but that wasn't completely true, I actually went to my locker to get the bouquet and her favorite snacks that I prepared. I'm planning to confess to her when I get back. I think that I'm ready to take the next step. I really like her. I'm sure of it now. I've been pondering on Mr. Heechul's words and I guess he was right after all. Maybe I really did fall in love at first sight.
I sighed out of content. My heart sped up every time I looked at her, thought of her or was close to her. I actually went to the hospital to get my heart checked up and the cardiologist just laughed at me when I explained my symptoms to her.
I was confused at first, until she explained how the hormones affect our bodies. At the end of our consultation, she just advised me to not wait too long to take the next step or she'll be gone before I know it.
I close my locker and head towards the library. I looked at my watch and my eyes widened. I took too much time. I hurry up and when I saw the entrance of the library, I hear Chaeyoung calling me. However, something felt wrong, there was in distress and fear in her voice and I couldn't help but think about the suspicious man.
I've never run so fast in my life, I thought I was flying. I entered the library and looked for Chaeyoung.
I tripped on something, more like someone. The librarian was unconscious on the ground. I checked if she was still breathing and thankfully she was.
I immediately called the police and asked for an ambulance. I head to where our seats were and noticed that her stuff were still here.
I didn't stop looking for her, I went outside and looked for at the parking lot. To my dismay, a few cars remained and they had the school's official stickers.
A few minutes later, the police came and I was interrogated. I explained them everything.

After my interrogation, they called my parents and sent me back home. My parents tried to comfort me and kept telling me that it wasn't my fault. It didn't help much, though. I was at fault, if only I hadn't left her.
Wrong timing, wrong place for my confession.
I ended up overthinking the whole night, resulting to me not getting a wink of sleep.
I went to school, feeling like a zombie. Even the cup of coffee I drank this morning, didn't help me a bit although usually it would.
I opened my locker and a card fell. I opened it, without paying much thought on it until I saw the content.
Bring this card to the girl's parents and tell them
that if you don't bring 100 million won to this address
by tomorrow morning, the girl will be dying on national broadcast.
P.S: Come alone.
If ever you come with the police, the girl dies instantly.
My blood ran cold and I panicked not knowing what to do, I put the note in my vest pocket. I head to homeroom and informed Mr. Heechul.

Mr. Heechul drove me to Chaeyoung's house. He also helped me clarify the whole situation to her parents. I insisted that I should go alone but they refused and told me that my safety is as important as their daughter's.
They have a few connections and invited them at their home discreetly in case the kidnappers are keeping an eye on us.
Morning came and I was more than ready to get Chaeyoung back. The first thing I did was head over to the Park family's house and meet up with the police and her family.
The plan was that I will "call" a taxi and go to the given address.
On the way, I silently prayed for everything to go as planned.

The moment of truth has come and I want to explain why I've been gone for so long.
I had the first major author's block since writing this story and I literally had no idea how to continue.
This chapter is very lacking and short compared to the others and I apologize for that. I wanted to give you guys something of quality but I guess I'm not capable of doing that.
I'm sorry for being such a failure as an author.
On a brighter note, I'm planning to do a long story and I've already started writing it! ❤
I hope you guys liked this chapter no matter how shitty it was.
