The first birthday I celebrated in four years. In other words, I hated my birthday since high school simply because I thought it was something for kids to celebrate. But this year Emma wanted to change this and invited Jacob when she surprised me with a 5 day visit.
Of course we ate cake, I got presents and got drunk in the evening. While Emma decided to go to the guest room to lie down, Jacob and I came up with stupid ideas. After I talked him into it with my heartache, he kissed me. We made out simply because our heads, stunned by alcohol, didn't consider it a reality.
"Alyssa, you don't know how long I've wanted to kiss you," he said during a short pause.
"How much I strove for you and your warmth," he separated briefly from me again.
"How much I always wanted to touch you gently," he whispered before gently kissing my neck.
"You can't imagine how I've been striving for your love and attention for the last 5 years," goosebumps chased across my skin and made me feel a little more sober.
I knew exactly what was going on and I didn't want to stop. For the first time since I was on tour I felt the love of a boy I trusted. The influence of alcohol didn't bother me that I didn't love him but it was a nice consolation after Shawn had fun with another.
And after that night, I knew even less what I was feeling. During the whole thing I couldn't get Shawn out of my mind, how he spontaneously kissed me when we stood drunk in an elevator and how he confessed his love to me. On the other hand, I enjoyed what was happening and how my best friend treated me.
It's an almost lover.
