As the hours ticked by the conversation drifted between the subjects. From Jennifer asking Megan advice on breastfeeding to different sports, fourteen hours later Megan called for the birthing team to return as Jennifer was finally dilated to ten centimeters and ready to push.
Mrs. Clare did not remember to scold her daughter for the strain of profanities that escaped her daughter's mouth once the cries of a newborn babe hushed the entire room. The purest of magic had taken place in that room and everyone wore smiles.
The doctors and nurses made quick work of the clean-up. Rachel returned to the room, and it caught Megan's attention. A knowing smile graced her lips as she finished her diagnostic spell on Jennifer.
"Looks like everything went well, we're going to keep you here for a few days to just make sure you and the young man stay healthy and allow you to recover a bit more. Well done, Jennifer. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family I will be by periodically to check on you," Madam Reinhold smiled, "if you need anything at all please let us know, Congratulations."
Megan slid over to the baby to finish weighing him. Rachel snuck in beside her to swab the inside of the baby's mouth. Megan watched as Rachel labeled the sample and slipped it into her pocket. Megan swaddled the bald blue-eyed newborn and placed him in his mother's arms.
"He's absolutely beautiful Jenny, well done," her mother gushed.
"Thanks, mama."
"Well how about we name the little fella," nodded Madam Reinhold.
"Who did you sleep with that has blue eyes?" Kellan asked with a laugh to break the tension and referring to his Brown eyes and Deans Green. The comment earned him a glare from the matriarch of the Clare family.
"Well... Christian but his eyes are more purple and that was way too far ago to be possible." Said Jennifer responded with a joking tone.
"Jennifer Clare!" Gasped Mrs. Clare.
"Relax mom," she sighed, "I was joking."
"Actually Mr. Westfield," interrupted Rachel, "most children start out with blue eyes. As they grow older their eyes will either fade to a parent's color or remain blue. Depending on how strong the genes are for the family members previously. Correct me if I'm wrong but miss Clare does your father have blue eyes."
"Yes, actually he does. Maybe he inherited them from my father," laughed Jennifer.
"I don't mean to be rude or anything but um... who are you?" Asked Dean.
"Right, forgive me," she said with a smirk. "I'm Doctor Rachel Woods and I'll be administering the paternity test."

Dean studied Doctor Woods a bit more, he admired her strong beautiful legs, slender waist and was (in his personal opinion of course) nicely topped off. Her face though is what seemed to be her focal point. Her glowing cheeks caught your attention, but her eyes kept it. At first glance they were blue. As Dean studied this mystery woman more, he saw that her eyes had a golden aura to them.
"A man could get lost in those eyes," Dean thought to himself then quickly shook his head, "what the fuck is wrong with me!"
He allowed his gaze to drift to her lips.
"So full and luscious, perfectly kissable," Dean thought before mentally smacking himself. "Damn, I need to get laid."
Rachel looked up from Dean's medical file and noticed exactly where his gaze landed. She smiled inwardly and gently bit her lip a bit to make it appear as if she was thinking hard. She glanced over his records once more to make it seem real. She knew it was a dumb and a bit childish to tease, but this guy filled her dreams throughout school and well a few times in the last few years too.
Dean felt his breath catch inside of his throat. "Breathe," he inwardly instructed as he coughed.
Rachel cleared her throat and glared at him, "Mr. McGuiere are you listening to me?"
"Uh... um... well uh," He stammered then sighed, "no, not really."
Rachel laughed quietly as a light blush tinted his cheeks. She gave him a smirk as an idea crossed her mind, she could get into so much trouble for this...
"Dean," She said in an almost whisper.
"Yeah," He answered in a seductive voice.
"Close your eyes, and open your mouth," she said while inching forward lightly gripping his chin.
Dean did as instructed. His heart started pounding as he envisioned her lips crashing against his.
But instead of getting what Dean thought was coming he felt her shove something completely different into his mouth.
Rachel smiled as she pulled the cotton swab from Dean's mouth.
"Thank you, Mr. McGuiere. You may return to Miss Clare's room now," she said professionally while isolating the sample and labeling it. "I should have your results in an hour."
"Worth it," she thought walking out of the room seeing him huff and throw himself back on the exam room bed.
