He adjusted his tie in the bedroom mirror with a smile, last night they had finally gotten a full night's rest. For the first time in a while, he didn't have bags under his eyes. The bathroom door opened distracting him for buttoning the cuffs of his shirt.

"Morning gorgeous," he turned to her, his smile instantly fading as he saw the look on her face, "what's wrong?"

"I'm Pregnant."

"So, you see not only is this arrangement beneficial for you and the company but also the city," She smiled over the coffee in her hand.

He sighed as he read through the paperwork she presented to him, "and you're sure this is what you want?"

"More than anything."

Silence passed between them as he weighed out the pros and cons in his head, "alright, let's do it then."

A smile was her only response as he picked up the pen from the table and signed his name on the line.

Her heart plummeted to her stomach as a familiar vile rocked cautiously in her hands, "Derrick, what's this?"

"A blood sample," he responded with an eye-roll.

"I know that," she clenched her teeth tightly, "but why is it in the untested fridge? It was marked urgent and was sent two months ago."

He sighed and pushed away from his desk, "look doc, everything that's sent down here is marked urgent. I'm only one guy, besides there wasn't a patient file with the sample so I assumed other cases took a president to it. I haven't been hounded for the results so it's not like it had to have been that urgent."

"I can't believe you still work here," she snapped uncorking the vile and proceeded to separate it into test slots, "you're lucky it hasn't turned, this could have meant life or death and getting another sample would have been an embarrassment this hospital."

"So, fire me," He sighed, "I'll happily collect unemployment while you sort through this shit hole of a lab on your own."

"You're sloppy un-organization is the only reason this place looked as it did. It's taken me a month to get this place back up in proper order and you bet your ass I'll be sending a report to the review board once I'm done," she seethed while keeping her concentration on placing the test tubes into their appropriate places.

He rolled his eyes and continued to work.

Dean smiled as the clock on his desk turned six. He reached over and clicked off this computer screen, "alright boys I'm off."

"Hot date?" asked Kendall from his desk.

"Yea, I'm taking Rachel out on a picnic tonight."

"Too mushy for my taste," commented Kendall, "what about you Ben any plans with your hot doc?"

Ben's gaze didn't break from his computer monitor.

"BEN," Dean said loudly making his partner blink and shake his head, "you good man?"

"hmm?" came his distracted response as he looked at his friends, "yeah, yeah I'm fine just a lot on my mind today."

"I can cancel with Ray if you need a drink," offered Dean.

"No, I'm fine. Really," he said with a dismissive wave of his hand, "besides you've been planning this night for a while."

"Yeah, who knew dating a doctor would mean mainly takeout and watching movies on a couch," Dean commented with a chuckle.
